RUMOR: Is FM Talk coming to 101.7 soon?

Rumor has it on the Kentucky board that Mainline is going to flip Kiss Country to a Talk format soon. I find this guess to be pretty far off, but who knows? I never thought Z-93 would flip either. I can already see angry hillbillies across Clark and Champaign counties if this happens. ;D

I don't think it would be worth it until after they get their move-in done. Plus I don't think they will be able to dangle the FM carrot to poach shows from WHIO since that station already has the FM simulcast.

Yeah what can Mainline manage to Poach but the 2nd and 3rd string talkers not already on in dayton. the best they can do is simulcast Sister AM Sports talk WING on the soon to be 101.5

Really the only kind of political talk they could do would be Liberal Talk a la Air America or other know liberal hosts. I really don't see them trying it. If they did the sports simulcast with WING-AM they could use the call letters WING-FM on 101.5.

The move won't be happening for a little while yet. It looks like their original tower choice didn't work out, so they have applied for a different tower nearby and are waiting on that application to be reviewed.

I don't see libtalk on the station. Trying to think of what is tier 1 and 2 that's still available. Something like Mancow or Imus in the morning, Glenn Beck is the only talker that's generally in the first tier that doesn't clear in Dayton. They could carry Dave Ramsey and Dr. Laura. One way to beat the performance tax on one of their stations.
