Rumor: J.D. Hayworth 92.3 pm drive co-host with Dead Simonds?

Word on the street is that Heidi Fogelsong is leaving for "greener" pastures, producing TV and radio shows (wonder what that would be!?). Why did she ever leave the place with more fluff's "Your Life: A-Z" coupla years ago in the first place!?

Doesn't TV pay more money than radio? Crappy, lame show once hosted by Kimmy Dillon. Anchor @ Ch. 3 says ratings suck, but advertisers booked up all the slots. Hence, the show stays on the air, despite quality. Money talks. That's TV and radio (see Pat McBland for proof!) biz nowadays.

How will DS get a word in edgewise with the foremost hot air, windbag? JD's certainly got a face for radio! Arch conservative host on a moderate to lib-leaning station (92.3)? I dunno!!!! Stay tuned!

Too bad JD had to sell out to a local radio station. What happened with an offer from MSNBC?

He's already got a nick, courtesy of Jones and Boze,
years ago on K-Slacks: J.D. Wafflesworth.

Two burning questions:
1) Would Janet still appear on KT'R in PM drive with Jed 'n' Ded?
2) Would J.D. read the ball scores?

It does seem like the wrong place as he'd be a much better fit
on 55/FYI--put him in morning drive, replacing Jacobs.

It's the same reason why "Sonoran Living" on Channel 15 and whatever that midday lifestyle show on 12 is called is still on the air...they're shows designed as advertising vehicles in the first place. There's a couple weekend shows that are paid for by the producers and the sponsors they find and have aired for years..."The Home Hunter" is one example example I can think of. Dianne Hunter has paid different Valley TV stations to air her show for a quarter century and I'm not sure if anyone watches now or if anyone watched to begin with, but the reason above (getting paid by housing developers in exchange for some airtime) is why she keeps producing the show.

Re Janet: I heard McBland on Friday with one of Janet's aides, the question: "So, how can you explain why Janet is such a great governor, one that everyone loves, and one that gets the job done"

Old Larry King has nothing McBland for lobbing slow fat softballs and sucking up.

I'm no fan of Hayworth, I think he is a braying ass, but it would be a good move for KTAR to try to show a bit of an identity instead of the bland velveeta they offer each day.

I heard McBland ask that question as well re: "janet being a popular governor everyone loves", I must not have gotten the memo (3.75 more years, phew).

At any rate, people dislike J.D. because he has opinions and is not shy about sharing them, Hmm... why would a News/TALK station want someone like that? Honestly, I can't imagine J.D. getting a job like that at Snewz 92-3 KT'R, primarily because they don't have the stones to hire anyone with a strong opinion, although if they team him with Dead Simons I suppose that might balance it out--one lively host with opinions, one toaster talk liner card reader better suited for an AC station. As much as I would question the move, absolutely anything would be better than McBland. I heard the McBland Group on Friday, eek. Doug Franz and some other guy were in there with ol' Pat... Doug could barely articulate his thoughts on the illegal immigration issue because he was so fearful of the person on the other side of the table and because--just like every other host at KT'R--he didn't want to risk saying anything that could possibly be "offensive" or even remotely "controversial". That was a wonderful waste of an hour of otherwise good air-time.

There's an excellent idea... let's just replace the highest rated program in the 25-54m demos.

About ten years ago, at a dinner for local broadcast legend Willard Shoecraft. J.D. was the guest speak. He stated he voted for the broadcast bill which lead to the growth of Cheap Channel because it would "Create Jobs". We all know how wrong he was and I was pleased when he lost his. What goes around comes around.

Why would J.D. take a job where he would be a NEWS READER? How can he voice opinions between TOH news and traffic? I'll admit it would be a coup if KT'R gets Hayworth, but it would be a waste of his talents to have him do either the morning or afternoon news.
