Someone I know was contacted about doing afternoons on Eagle. He's as solid as they come and wouldn't just make that up out of thin air.

I know nothing more than that, but it appears there's trouble in 1.6 paradise.

He reinvented himself as a classic rock host, spent a few years at iHeart's WNRQ in Nashville, was syndicated to WLLZ Detroit & WEGR Memphis. He improved the ratings at those stations. Then was offered afternoon drive at the legendary KSHE St. Louis. Unfortunately got swept up in budget cuts there.

So yes, he has a reputation in sports radio, but he did a solid job in classic rock. He's a real personality. So I think he'd be great at KEGL.

By doing what they hired him to do and then getting pissed at him for doing it. Its amazing that many radio professionals don't understand people are hired to play characters or to over emphasize certain traits.

Personally I expect iHeart to attempt this at some point in the near-future, but it won't be at The Eagle. They'll do it at a small market station or two first as a test before attempting a larger market like Dallas.
