RUMOR MILL IN SAVANNAH

Sports is working on FM on big sticks in other markets. I hear 107.5 in Columbia is billing nicely. Ratings may not do well but they get the money, which is what matters. I believe it's doing well in Detroit and other markets also that CBS has its "Fan" format on FM in.

Columbia and Detroit are both much larger markets than Savannah, and can possibly sustain sports. Savannah is far too small for sports on a big stick FM. Again, put WBMQ on a simulcast, create a live morning news block (with some of the money you'll save from having an air staff on Mix) and you'll not only save money but you'll more than likely gain audience. The morning infomercials on WBQM are an embarrassment! I know they may bring in a few bucks but there's no credibility whatsoever.

Columbia is about the same size as Savannah/Hilton Head combined. Which is how the market is classified in Nielsen (and how everyone should).
