rumor mill: KEN & KITTY- MORNINGS on 107 THE BONE

You've GOT to kidding! Ken and Kitty absolutely HATED the Lehigh Valley and would never come back. I worked with them and they couldn't wait for their contract with Citadel to expire so they could escape the looney bin on AVE C. Their opinion of this market was also not very high. If you are suggesting a syndication of their show in Cincinatti? I guess anything is possible.

KEN LEFT AND CAME BACK HERE ONCE ALREADY....AND ARE THEY EVEN ON THE AIR ANY MORE IN CINCINNATI?
.......rumor fits....and THE BONE FITS THEIR SHOW

Setting things straight, hope you're all having a great weekend --

1. Actually, Ken and I never HATED the Lehigh Valley; I grew up there, and it's nice to get away from where you grew up to see the world and what things are like elsewhere. That's the only reason we left.

2. We are NOT on the air in Cincy right now -- Bonneville & the Mormons bought the station we were working at and didnt want to pay us what we wanted so they didnt offer us a contract and put on a cheap syndicated show.

3. I think we'd enjoy working on a ROCK station, since that's the music I LOVE, and when you love your station's music, you love your station a bit more than when you dont care for your format (not that I dont like country, but I sure am sick of being told "we dont sound like a country morning show"). We were supposed to sound different than any OTHER "country" morning show. By design. And that's fine with me, because I'd rather be edgy, unpredictable and local and keep it about the LISTENERS than sit and talk about what Kenny Chesney's doing on his next album, because honestly -- is that going to be something you care about as a listener? I wouldnt care what charity event Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, etc are attending over the weekend, but I DO care about some NAKED GUY running on the side of 22, 33 or 78...

so to sum it up, we'd LOVE to come back to the Valley, but when there's NOTHING OPEN, there's nothing, and you go somewhere else... I AM a bit homesick though...

y'all keep stirring it up and rocking the free world on the air!

Im glad the record has been set straight. I totally agree with the philosophy of wanting to move around and expand horizons. K and K are Legends and what would be even better is if they took over the Bearman and Keith show. Those two are not funny and never were!

Dr. Pickle, Ken and I would REALLY jump at the chance of being on ZZO -- I've loved that station since I was a kid, and that was one station that I would have worked at with no questions asked --

why dont you submit a T&R to The Bone? What could it hurt? The worst that could happen is you'd get no reply, and no one dies -- never hurts to try, right?

Good luck, and ROCK ON!

According to All Access from Thursday, Free Beer & Hot Wings are going to be doing mornings on The Bone.

ken and kitty in the mornings. this opinionated drpickle guy in the afternoons. now that's a lineup i'd actually listen to, even if rock is not my thing. ;D

Well it would be GREAT for Lehigh Valley radio listeners if K&K did find their way back. NOT so great for other Valley morning shows however.

Well, I realize that when a jock is looking for work you don't vent in public. And I know Kitty grew up in the market (Northampton?) but when I was was in the building Kitty was not quiet about her desire to get away from the Lehigh Valley. When they left I was happy for them because I believed K&K were destined for bigger and better things. It was known that they were not appreciated by the company and management. But perhaps Kitty's perspective has changed and the idea of working again in the Lehigh Valley is better than not working. I am all for talented jocks being employed and if K&K return to the Valley I hope it is what they really want. BTW while moving around for jobs in radio might seem cool, it can be quite devastating if you have children.
