Rumors floating around

According to sources Clark Howard, who's contract is up next year, is planning on getting completely out of radio and running for the US Senate. Heavy duty people.

On David Paul's website it says that he is appearing again on the Regular Guys Radio Show this Monday for a return visit, this time in the studio. Larry has said a few times that he wants to offer David Paul a job. Watch yourself Larry, your getting to close to the tigers cage.

At WGST Denny Schaffer is the man they want. Denny is playing hardball and reportedly asking more than they want to give. Give him what he wants WGST, so far he is the man.

I agree with you Schaeffer would be a pretty good choice. Of those still left in the running he is the best of the lot.

As far as Schaeffer being the guy they may want, Costa himself pointed this out earlier in the week and beat you to the punch, which probably explains more so why he bowed out to explore other things.

Clark Howard for US Senate?

This is who Gabe Hobbs wants, too bad he's awful.

Hmm do you think someone as money savvy as Clark Howard just might plant that seed out there to enhance his bargaing position? I know he has been interested in gov't, the money they waste and consumer protections but it doesn't hurt either to give your employer a seed of doubt going into negotiations.

Hmmm...I wonder....

What party do you guys think he would run under? We KNOW he's fiscally conservative...I wonder where his MORAL standards are...left, or right?

Imagine if Clark got ahold of the Federal Budget? The USA would be solvent in under two years.
______________

If he could ever promote responsible spending in government and continue being an effective consumer advocate, I doubt that'll matter much--folks like getting the most out of their money. I'd imagine that his show has a great mix of people who'd identify as progressive/liberal or conservative, and I'd imagine he'd have similar appeal as a candidate.

Good grief! He's going to give up a real position of power and influence and go to a place where he can't get a damn thing done. Clark, I thought you were smart!

My guess is that he's an independent. He's definitely a fiscal conservative. However, I've never heard him take a political stance on other issues on his show, so it would be hard to guess what he thinks about things such as gay marriage, Iraq, etc. Because I think he would come down hard on both the Democrats and Republicans for their spending practices, I can't see him beholden to either party.

Clark did consider running for mayor of Atlanta, so it's not like he's too green at this. He does have the name recognition that could make him a potential frontrunner. I also think he would have huge bi-partisan support.
______________
