Rumors of Indie's Demise

Granted, speculation has been ongoing for five years over Indie's demise... but it seems to be getting loud today. Anyone hearing anything?

I think the recent changes (hearing a lot more mainstream alt rock bands like Weezer and Pumpkins) are a bad move. Not because I am an Indie purist that thinks only Stereolab should be played but because it will alienate their small but loyal base. Indie going away (if and when it happens) won't come as a shock to anyone. They specialize in a form of music that is foreign to the VAST majority of people. It's tough to get ratings on a weak signal as it is. When you play bands like Bright Eyes a lot...it's even harder.

I still say if indie were on a decent signal it would give kroq a run for there money. I hope and pray this is not true but if it is i still have 94.9 in sandiego i get.I can easily stream that kind of music online but on the old terrestrial radio it is not as easy to find a true alt format..

I know of no serious broadcaster who would agree with the above assertion.
