It is 9:00, do you know where Veronica Mars is? Not on WWOR thanks to the evil Rupert Murdoch and the evil Bruce Ratner. Most UPN affilliates don't have grown men in their underwear playing a stupid children's game pre-empting quality television. I hate the Nets for wanting destroying viable neighbrohoods in Brooklyn (and convincing Marty Markowitz they are the second comming of the Dodgers by trying to build their evil arena complex on the site where it was proposed the Brooklyn Dodgers could build a new stadium) and I am hating the Nets even more because of this nonsense stupid pre-empting.

Funny thing, I seem to remember predicting months ago that after the Fox stations stopped using "UPN" in their names, we would see more and more pre-emptions in the months leading up to the netlet's plug finally being pulled. In fact, my quote was along the lines of "Fox might realize they can make more money off a Tuesday Night At The Movies than they can off of 'Veronica Mars' reruns."They've now realized they can make more money off of basketball than off of certain UPN shows. This is just the beginning, mark my word. It won't be long until large swaths of the UPN lineup (all the less than profitable ones) will be gone from WWOR.

I have a feeling that Veronica Mars gets better ratings and demo than the Nets. The Nets are a bastard stepchild that nobody really cares about supporting.

God, "toby", does anything make you happy? You've obviously been under a rock for the past month, because if you were paying attention, WWOR-TV has been airing Nets games under an arrangement with the YES Network. The Nets games that have aired on channel nine -- four in the late regular season, and all five (so far, including Thursday's game six) first-round contests, and second-round games should the Nets advance (and they will) -- couldn't be carried live on YES because of the Yankees. The games have to air somewhere; YES could have gone back to WLNY-TV, but they would have lost the cable-less and satellite-less fans who can't watch WLNY's now digital-only signal. There is an audience for the Nets, and let's face it, it's good to see some pro basketball on broadcast television again outside of ABC's weekend coverage. Not to mention that they're a great team to watch. Can't say that about that sorry group of hucksters who play in that round building above Pennsylvania Station in Manhattan.Instead of complaining about YOUR belief that "no one cares about the Nets", complain about the fact that WWOR has not rescheduled any UPN programs pre-empted by basketball. Considering that WWOR's "Friday Night Yankees" broadcasts have pushed back WWE Friday Night Smackdown! to Saturday Nights, could it be that wrestling gets better demos than Veronica Mars? Chew on that!

The Nets not having any more games this season and remaining in the swamps of New Jersey would make me happy. As for the Nets on TV, they belong on WMBC.

You can re-run a pre-empted TV show. Not so much for a live sports broadcast.Take the whining to your local Mars forum. You know the place, where you have the charisma carpenter avatars with the flowy script below it?

I suppose while we're at it, ABC should ditch their basketball coverage, NBC should dump the hockey, FOX and CBS should get rid of NFL football and the Super Bowl, and FOX should really get rid of baseball. Heck, Univision and Telemundo should drop the soccer broadcasts as well, I'd rather watch my novelas whenever I want!Hey...why not take this even further? MSG should stop showing the Knicks and Rangers, YES should stop showing the Yankees and Nets....it cuts in to those all-important reruns of MSG Sportsdesk and Mike and the Mad Dog!Seriously, your argument holds no water. Live sports has been aired on television stations almost since television began. Channel 9, in its pre-UPN days, used to air the Nets all the time. The Knicks too. And they aired Mets games until very recently. I believe now they will air some Yankees games. Don't they also sometimes air preseason football and local college basketball matches on occassion? Deal with it.

"toby", or whatever else he calls himself, is a whiner who can never be satisfied unless things go his way. Have you ever seen his website with all the screenshots, which doubles as a soapbox to nitpick at everything good and bad about television (WCBS-TV in particular)? I've always believed he views himself as being more important than he really is.

Toby, I looked around your website - some hysterical stuff!!!Can you post or link your e-mail address either here or on your website? I have a lot of old station graphics, if you want to put them on your site. Otherwise, they'll just be wasting away in my VHS pile, and probably eventually end up in the trash.
