Tough to generate revenue when the price is that steep. The price paid in smaller Vermont markets (Barre) is considerably less. The question is can WVMT sell it in liberal Burlington. Rush is still the talk ratings king among the 50+ talk crowd.
Louie was right. Before we took over Clear Channel signed a deal with their own company Premiere for over $24,000.00 a year and it didn't make financial sense because the show was very difficult to sell in this market. And that was on an FM. We don't even pay a fraction of that in any other markets with Rush. We had a 90 day out so we took the option. I offered to keep the show for less but Premiere said no. I'm not sure what WVMT paid. It's a good show but not at that price.
