As you probably know, but others may not, there is an optional feature of his podcast we were not expecting: You don't have to do anything. The software will download the show automatically to subscribers' pc 2 hours after the show. Is anyone else doing that? Are any other significant broadcaster's even podcasting?

Also...this just in...

From AdAge:

Next week, Clear Channel Radio will offer podcasts of Phone Tap, a popular sketch that airs on New York’s Z100 morning show. And in July, Infinity Broadcasting will begin to podcast programming from its nine radio news shows, offering local and national news, sports, business and entertainment headlines as well as weather and traffic reports.

Podcasts are also coming to the Voice of America.

I notice that most of the mentioned shows are associated with Clear Channel. I wonder if Clear Channel is moving toward this or if the talent retains these rights.

Fee-based podcasting is the way to go. But it will have limited appeal if we have to sign up one show at a time. The thing to do would be for one entity (such as Clear Channel) to offer a blanket subscription for one fee that would be larger, but not as large as adding up individual show fees.

The only thing I don't get is the Infinity offering. What would I do with a podcast of traffic and weather reports??
