In the old days, the conservatives were the ones who complained about obscene language. Now they're the ones who use it all the time.
Everybody uses it all the time. Society changes. I think some of it you can thank the internet for.

you would think a syndicator would not try to get their affiliates in trouble.
With stage 4 cancer I doubt Rush really cares. I know I wouldn't. This might be his last chance to influence a national election. Politics aside, I hope he and all of the folks with cancer are around for the 2024 elections. I lost my Mother to cancer recently and it is not a good way to exit this world.
Preachers don't use it. Evangelicals don't use it. Nice people don't use obscene language. The president calls people "thugs" but he's one of them.

The President is a reflection of our society. Cussing and swearing galore. Rapidfire bursts of emotionalism. Biases. Alternate 'facts'.
Is that something to be proud of?
I know of one who I went to high school with. Whether it's obscene or not I'm not sure, but broadcast TV generally does not allow this word.Evangelicals don't use it.

And he's one of the ones who say a true born-again Christian can't vote for a Democrat.
Well, the people I went to high school with (who didn't go to my church) are not in that group.Trump still has a lot of evangelicals duped but there are enough that aren't buying into his lies that it may cost him the election this time.
2) For bonified news interviews which include a candidate there is no requirement for equal opportunity.
I'm thinking that's still a bonified news instance and no equal opportunity is required.
What does the law say about a candidate who invites the press to cover an special announcement, gives a short reading of the press release, and then spends the majority of the time attacking the other candidate, his party, and other members of his party, all from federally owned property. And does so in a mean and angry way.
If there are restrictions on the location as a campaign venue, that would be far outside the purview of a radio or TV station.
My point is it's not the proper use of a press event. But we all know what he thinks of the press.
The other candidate doesn't have the OPPORTUNITY of doing the same kind of thing from the same kind of place.
Throughout history, including the times before radio and TV and the Internet existed, the sitting president has a natural advantage over the contender because of the office they hold.
But NONE have used the office and the building to the degree that this one does. And once again, the law says radio & TV have to offer "equal opportunity."
