Limbaugh doesn't have to pay for these callers. His employer, Premiere Radio Networks owns the paid calling service. The service is provided to all talk shows within their company. It is used to augment the ratings of the shows under their network. It's all about the ratings and the revenue. Do you really think they would allow his program to be broadcast subject to chance? If you allowed actual callers there would be people calling Limbaugh out on the carpet all the time. With his stuttering problem, his armor of invincibility would be quickly shed and his devoted ultra-conservative listeners would grow tired of their "faux John Wayne". This is the very reason that you won't see Limbaugh debate anyone. It's all an illusion.

Remember I am a conservative. It's all about being objective and recognizing a weak, Republican in name only.

Far be it from me to defend Limbaugh, but I seem to recall that the service you describe is provided by Premiere for local morning shows for music stations, not for national talk shows.

Are you saying that prior to Rush losing the major part of his hearing, he didn't use this service? Or are you saying that he's used it the entire time? In either case, what a phony baloney. Well the circus act has made him and Premiere a ton of money. The allusion of radio. Same with Hannity apparently, other than when Hannity has a guest on his show.

OK, what about Premieres' Sport's Talk shows, Dan Patrick Show and Jim Rome Show? Are they also using paid Premiere callers?

None of these shows use the Premiere call service. None of them. Not Rush, not Jim Rome, not Hannity. Once again, the call service is to provide "wacky" calls for morning zoo shows. That's why they have auditions for prospective callers.

Though I respect your opinion, your statement is not true. The fact is, Limbaugh's callers, Hannity callers, etc., are Premiere Radio Networks calling service calling in. Do yourself a favor and record a month of shows and then carefully listen to the calls. You'll soon discover the same voices slightly disguised at times for effect. Remember it's a show whose intent is to get the highest ratings and make the host look good. This is the only way to effectively do this as Limbaugh is terrible in real debate situations. Please accept the truth. There is no Santa Claus.

How do I know this? Because I worked at a Rush affiliate. He took calls from some of our regular callers all the time. I know these people personally, and I know they don't work for Premiere.

Even in 2012 Rushstill has a draw and it will br strongest this election cycle. I think WWIQ will come out of the box with a 1, which will be an incredible debut. In a year they will force WPHT to FM.

The 1.1 is impressive. With a cume of only 152,800, those people must be listening for a long time. WPEN-FM has a 1.3 and has more than twice as many people listening.

But it's "who's listening" that counts. Many talk stations around the country have a small but loyal core (cume) of listeners who will listen all day (high TSL.) Why? Many of them are over 55 and are retired...demos the ad agencies don't want. The station will get plenty of political advertising, at least every other year, so with a largely birdfed lineup of talkers, they can be profitable even with such dreadful demos. While the Fanatic also has a low 6+ number, they have twice as much cume and younger demos listening, which is a much easier sell to advertisers.
