Rush off WJET Erie

Got this from T-R-I. Seems like a rarity in the modern day radio. WJET had to cut Rush loose because he was too expensive, and they didn't want to drop a local host to keep him.

“Limbaugh’s fee kept going up every year. It was a lot of money. We had to make the decision on whether to cut someone locally or keep Rush, and we felt it was more important to keep someone on the local payroll.” -Joe Lang, OM

The 12-3 slot will go to Dennis Miller now.
 
When a national host cost as much as hiring a local, its time to cut him loose!
 
Well, it makes sense. One of the smartest things to happen in talk radio this year.
