You're a deep thinker, Cowboy, which is why I enjoy reading your input. But I am scratching my head over your offering on the Tea Party. Almost a year has passed since I last heard any drum beating by that fledgling bunch. Or have I missed something?Goat Rodeo Cowboy said:Thse seven protesting ladies are doing exactly what Tea Party folks are doing on the other end of the spectrum... beating the drums for their pet cause every chance they get. Sometimes a Tea Party event has all the aura and aroma of a "dry cow" project, some days they get to applaud and cheer as another state legislature produces a bill they fought for.

Thanks for the wakeup call on goings-on in your neck of the woods. And I feel particularly silly for my oversight on the Wisconsin Governer's recall election. Yes, I am up to snuff on the Tea Party's role there. I just overlooked it.Goat Rodeo Cowboy said:Maybe you live and play in a more sedate, some would say more civilized community. Where I live the entire process of candidate debates, etc for county commissioners, sheriff and other offices is being orchestrated by the Tea Party organization in our county. Earlier this year we had one event where the Republican County Committee, the Democratic County Committee and the Tea Party were joint sponsors of a Candidate Meet and Greet. In my county we have THREE competing Tea Party organizations. My favorite one is headed up by a guy who will look a county commissioner in the eye and say: "The only GOOD politician is one who is laying on the side of the road, GUTTED!" I figure if all Tea Party groups would be that open about being that crude, the movement might indeed fade away and the folks could learn to be content with the more civilized and sanguine values of the Republican Party. Are you paying attention to the Governor's Recall Election in Wisconsin... next week I think... That seems to be the Olympics of the Tea Party Movement.jfrancispastirchak said:You're a deep thinker, Cowboy, which is why I enjoy reading your input. I'm sorry if you are missing out on The Colorful Life where you live. Most days I wish I were missing out. ;D
