Rush Radio ?

Okay the first spring ratings are listed on Radio & Records as of June 10th and WWL-AM dropped from 6.1 to 5.8 and WRNO crept up from 2.3 to 2.5. If Rush has such loyal fans, why haven't they moved in the first two months. Looks like Entercom has this one on Clear Channel - what a WASTE of money !
Oh wait, they did slip past WWL-FM though by .2 - that's some investment.

keep in mind those are raw 12 plus numbers. But i agree it does seem like Rush would have even pulled those numbers up.I like Rush, but he can be irritating at times.i wish wwl fm would go back to music, doing the greatest hits concept like cbs fm or kearth .late 60's to mid 80's.

I saw the numbers from the demo - while it doesn't show in the 12 plus numbers, WWL took it in the shorts during middays, so yes, Rush fans are moving.

I doubt we would see much change since this is just a trend, not an actual book.

There's no or little reason for the WWL-A and WWL-F numbers to be separate any longer. Entercom(before this Spring '08 phase I) could trumpet the fact that just their FM was defeating RNO head to head. This may take a little steam out of Entercom on the street. I could see next month's trend being a little higher for RNO. I'll guess a 2.8.
Will RNO skyrocket? No.

Ironic you'd bring up the concept of WWL-FM going back playing music from the late 60's to mid 80's because that's what KOOL original did when Edmond first put it on the air back in August of '93. We simply positioned the station as "the greatest hits of all time". We did some decent numbers with me & Banksy, Walker and Cherie. We'd mix in some of identifiable tunes from the mid 80's. Maybe you were around to hear it? But that came to screeching holt once he sold it and the consultants from corporate had better ideas.

yes,i remember, LOVED the station.could be done again, but you need the LEGENDS (former TIX airstaff,as many as you could get).Has to be PERSONALITY radio,no same dam 300 tunes over and over.could bump off tix fm quickly.Man these guys at CBS FM,KEARTH,Q105 TAMPA,are having a ball.

My wife and I were tripping down memory lane last night, talking about the days Blair and I did mornings on KOOL.

Blair, remember Sudduth swatting the gnats & skeeters on the ceiling in the newsroom? He was standing on a swivel office chair and every time we would swat the newspaper to the right the chair would twist to the left!

I think we laughed uncontrollably for a good 3 minutes before either of us could speak coherantly!

That was some fun stuff!
