Rush? really?

Bonneville's promo dept do realize that their most-booked demo - the 50+ specifically mentioned in their 10x/day colonscopy spots - have no concept of Rush other than Limbaugh...? Poor Aunt Edna will need the hearing aid checked before going to the show. Serious demo whiplash when they flip to their geriatric Christmas special.

1974, actually. Before "God of the drums" Neil Peart joined the band.

May I presume "hold water" is a carefully chosen phrase given 92.3's *real*, behind-closed-doors demo? You know, the over-70's for whom they are undoubtedly programming their Christmas flip? Who *else* would knowingly listen to Ye Olde Fruitcake Special that makes Lawrence Welk look like the Wiggles by comparison? A 'Best of Dumb & Dumber' - heck, a 'Best of Ramsey' would get higher ratings on 12/24 & 12/25. Of course, it's entirely possible that 92.3's unlistenably archaic holiday programming is simply a yearly write-off for Bonneville.

Don't like it? Don't listen. It's that simple, guy. I, personally, despise quite a few music genres. What do I do? Not listen to them. Because I don't like it.

Ah, I see. So you consultant types want to toot your horn about how 92.3 is tops among 24-40's, but when it's pointed out how blatantly the station still caters to the over-70's nursing-home crowd -- why on earth is a "talk radio" station even playing *any* music, even on Christmas? -- you turn into Cleopatra, Queen of Denial. Is Bonneville still under contract to play its embarrassingly unlistenable Christmas fruitcake flip, or do they believe the consultants' talking point that 92.3 isn't my grandpa's station? The rank hypocrisy is just mind-boggling, particularly during the holiday season.

Geez, who fired you/didn't give you a gig at Bonneville?

Reality: Christmas Day is a fairly low revenue day at any radio station. The logs are fairly empty. Staff wants the day off. Listeners aren't following their usual habits.

So you could run a day of best of's, or you could do something else. But you'll get the same result. (namely: half the town listening to Ho Ho Ho on K-E-Z and half the town out of town, watching television, or otherwise with their radio off)

The following week people's habits return to normal. It's why there's a Holiday book that most buyers blow off.

Hook up with the unemployed TV engineer in the other thread, open a bottle of Jack, and have a Merry Christmas telling everyone what they should be doing.

But as a message board troll, your game is pretty weak.
