Russ Martin and Tre....

You know i love Russ Martin but I was thinking last night if his show was still on would he and Tre come to the defense of the officer who prevented NFL player Ryan Moats from seeing his mother-in-law before she died. I can see him defending that officers actions etc what do you guys think? I guess that is what I hated about the show even when the officers were in the wrong they always took their side. Now saying that I do support the Police around here because there is no way I would want to deal with the Crap in the DFW area and a salute to all who do but in this case wrong is wrong.

How does ANYONE possibly drag Russ into that horrible situation? The cop was in the wrong and even his own chief has expressed their deep regrets. Unbelievable.

We really didnt need another Russ thread. ::) This has nothing to do with radio.

Careful renzo... you don't want to say anything about Russ Martin on THIS board, don't you know he has nothing to do with radia??? It appears that the message board cops are already on to you though...
(end sarcasm)

As far as RM always defending cops, I've heard him on more than a few occasions say that cops were in the wrong when it was blatant they were wrong as was the case with the DPD officer and Mr. Moats...

Just my 2 cents ;D

I'm glad this place has moved past the point of bitching about what someone says on the air to complaining about what someone who has been off the air for several months might say if he were still on the air. Way to grow up classy, Dallas.

Bongo,

Surely you remember Russ Martin!?! He used to be on the air at a now defunct station and last I heard he runs an automotive shop. I also think I read about him being involved in a lawsuit in Fort Worth or something... <please note sarcasm>

I remember Russ now. He will go down in the history of DFW radio as a guy who did less with more than anyone in the history of radio. It could make you nuts if you think about it... He had a solid afternoon drive spot, low CUME but a TSL through the roof. Meaning, he had a small but very loyal audience probably not likely to listen to anyone else. He had a PD and GM with no stones, not one between them, that would let him get away with anything. He was a hack that ripped off a number of other shows on a regular basis and got away with it. He was even given numerous chances to expand his show into other cities. Yeah, I remember him now. So long sucker.

Russ just walked from the kitchen to the garage only to find himself frustrated when he realized that he left his glass of water on the kitchen table.

ALL of you are WRONG! It was his spit cup he left in the kitchen. ;)

When did the ratings tank for his show? I know he used to brag about them for a long time but I noticed that it wasn't a part of the "show" for awhile. I'm just trying to see it from a management perspective.

I think it was about the time he started to think he could play the guitar... band talk, chaw talk, Russ Martin Automotive, Trey's fake annoying rants and launching food at Alfie... It just got old. ::)
