Russ Martin-Cavalier as Ever!!!!

Russ Martin is a Spare! He won't do any time, just the way it works. Too bad. Like I tell my small kids, Life just isn't fair sometimes. Still the land of the haves' and have nots. Still think he will be lucky to get a traffic reporter gig in the next year. :-\
 
Im not going to hate on the man, but I agree that he'll take a hit if he receives a return of guilty from the jury. Also, how are they going to pick a just jury pool from this area, as the man has a love/hate relationship with listeners and the community

I would be quite surprised if over 25% of the general population of Tarrant county has even heard of Russ Martin & KLLI. There is a definite love/have relationship for RMS here on this board but I doubt it extends to the entire jury pool.
 
Read the cross-link to the other related article. His ratings are up! Also since they have reconciled, that would seem to weaken the case. During voir dire people should be disqualified if they have any biases. I bet there is a lot of "Russ who?" though. ;)
 
I would have to say there are some really bitter people on here. Especially when it comes to Russ Martin. I'm new to the area so I feel like I can be somewhat objective when it comes to this cat. First, why the personal hostility toward him when it comes to radio? Do all of us jocks have to be jealous of any other jock who has had more success than we have? That's old school jock BS. Secondly, the guy is talented. Deal with it. Now, if he is guilty of what he is accused of then he should be held accountable. If there are some sort of circumstances that we do not know of that only he, his woman and his lawyer know of that has him believing he can skate. Then so be it. Don't judge till you know. I'd venture to say knowing how some of us in radio are....we should be the last to cast stones.
 
I don't think the majority of remarks about Russ concern his show. You either like it or you don't, and everyone's entitled to their opinion.

I think the overwhelming attitude on the board regards what a miserable human being he is. Even before this last episode. Which has nothing to do with his show, his talent, or being an "old school jock."
 
It's Gavin's fault for letting Russ do what ever he wants. Maybe those days are coming to an end. I don't see how CBS in good faith can let Gavin continue to screw up 2 radio stations in the a market this big. there has to be changes. As far as Russ, it will all come to bit him one way or another.
 
I tella ya, changes are a-comin for those two stations. Spittle has dropped the ball on both KLLI and KRLD when it comes to programming and community. CBS Radio is chopping heads and cutting salaries across the country,im just curious why it hasnt happened here yet....

With RMS, there time is coming as well. As I said previously, I have no ill wills toward the man or his show. But, I have problems with men who disrepect women and their fellow man as well. If he loses his show,money and/or freedom, it will be his own fault by his own doing.
 
Martin, whose ratings certainly haven’t been hurt by his legal problems, has apparently reconciled with his girlfriend, moved from Southlake to Frisco and gained confidence that the three-count, misdemeanor charges will ultimately be dropped.

It can be blamed on Bob McNeill and Dave Siebert and others that came before Galvin as well...and even the management at KEGL way back when. This kind of attitude doesn't develop overnight.
 
So is Russ' new house out in the middle of nowhere, or a populated area? I can't say I have ever been out that way, so I dunno. If it's in the middle of nowhere, maybe he's turning it into a fallout shelter with a very deep bunker to hide in?
 
For once Slam and I agree.

I do believe him to be a fool for not taking the plea.

Arrogance has cost many an inmate time.

He best be thankful they are not felonies.
 
I'm longing for the day Russ takes a swing at a man, or someone who can fight back in general.

But we all know that's not his style.

bank account, buddy. That woman would prosecute me into the ground (assuming I became a coward and smacked her around) but finds something good (i.e., 6 or 7 figures in the bank) in Russ.
