It was originally mentioned by Richie Whitt in an Observer piece. I posted all the info on how to look up the info, but the board ops took it down and sent me a msg stating I was an internet stalker, even though all the info I posted is public info available to anyone. The info I posted included a .pdf file of the mortgage, which very clearly has Russ's signature. I only know it's his signature b/c there was at one time an image of a check on his website for the foundation, and the signatures are the same. Not saying it's his house - perhaps he spent 7 figures on a house for Mandy. Might explain her return.

Dude, I am on Collin counties website right now and put in Russell D Martin, Russell Martin, Russ Martin and even just Martin.....

There 2 Russell Martins in Collin County who own properties, one is a residential home a little over 130 thousand dollars, and the other bought a couple vacant lots........

I did the same thing and came up with nothing at the time, then used another source (wont describe it) and saw the home and transaction for Russell D. Martin.....
 
Maybe CBS will make theri way to Dallas and do the samething they did in New York and clean house and shrink staffs and do needed format changes.

Remember RMS aims for the Lowest Common when it comes to their audience. So D&F jokes, words that sound like the n-word and random silence seem to make these people happy...

Personally, the draw, for me anyway, to the RMS is that I have been listening since he first came on 1053...its almost like a ritual, most of it is funny to me, a lot of its predictable, but I don't really care...some of it is repetitive to the point where I will take a break from the show for a little while and come back. The bottom line is that it is somewhat mindless humor, (sometimes not, but usually so) which I believe is the purpose of the show and why its been on the air for so long...and that is what I am looking for my drive home, in other words, I know a bunch of you like BDH because he's "innovative" and "intelligent" and that's all well and good, I can follow along if I choose, but why? I think all day long, I want to laugh more and think less on my way home. I don't listen to music on the radio very much, that's why I have an iPod, I don't really care for any of the other afternoon drive shows in DFW (if you do that's fine, not slamming you, just saying). So basically that's it, I want to laugh at stupid jokes and dead air on my way home, no real science to it, it just the way I am.

I think you're off mark a bit with your "Lowest Common Denominator" comment...sure the RMS, like any other show, has its share, and maybe more than most, of the bottom feeders. But take me for example...I'm a 29 yr old married, college graduate, father of three, have a white collar job, make well into 6 figures, I have a house, 2 cars and a stable family life and I have listened for 8 years...I could be wrong, but I really don't consider all that I have described as falling into the lowest common denominator category...

Lets be honest: Theres nothing clever his product. If we're also going to point out dullards in his audience, I say we point them out. All I said is he aims for lowest common denominator with is product, which he achieves without issue. Im not expecting BBC Radio 4 or NPR quality, but I and many other folks do crave deep,thought provoking conversation on the commercial FM dial.
 
I love it how the majority of the Forums members bash all the decent shows in DFW, But love the crappy ones...Kid kraddik must be paying you guys or something.....Lex and Terry are beating kid in most of the markets they are in.....Yet you claim they suck.........Hell they are about to get their own Show on a network channel here soon......Russ has beat the snot out of most DFW shows for a long time, thats why he makes so much money and resigns every 5 years.......

Russ's show is about Adult Humor. Most of you don't understand it. Because your not past sesame street and the backstreet boys......There is a reason Russ makes way above 6 figures and Lex and Terry are syndicated, and your pushing buttons behind a switch board. Because They are winners. They will always be winners. And you'll always be losers.....

I don't work in radio, but i work in the Music industry......Russ didn't get to where he is today by sucking on the radio........

Lex and Terry in the mornings and Russ in the afternoons For life!! ;D

Dallas, trust me, L&T, RMS and Dave "Kidd" Kraddick all fall in the same boat for me. Never been a big fan of any of them as they always aim low for the LCD, I guess thats why I like listening to straight music sets(btw, my tastes are vast) with very little "wacky FM banter" that you get in commercial radio.
 
I'm in the samw boat with Tex192

I problem solve technical boondoggles all day for a living (I'm an EE), when I drive home I don't want thought provoking radio. I've had all the thought I can stand by 4pm. Bring on the frat humor and bathroom jokes. Ya I still laugh at the predictable fart sound that follows whenever some says Putin during the news. Sorry but that is just the way it is. If I wanted to think I would tune in NPR.

I am sure the founding fathers of broadcast radio wouldn't like what's become of their work. I get adult humor, I just don't think it belongs on commercial radio. That's what cable and sat radio are for.

Hey, and I would like to see more stations of variety not locked down to top 40 junk, but I don't go out of my way to bash those that make a living doing it.

I don't work in radio or anything but I find it ironic that your approach to criticizing a show you clearly don't like is to insult the fans of the show. Does that make you feel better about yourself and your tastes in radio. I don't care for the NBA but I don't insult the people that are fans of the sport.

Sorry but your logic is flawed. If you are craving a steak from a nice steak house, do you go to TGI Fridays and stand outside and insult the people going there to eat??

I don't work in radio. I don't work for the station. I never worked in radio. I do not know or claim to know anyone from the show or radio.

I am a casual listener of the show (between that, the ticket and cd's) if I am actually driving at the time.

So no, no horse in this race.

But yea - if that makes it easier for you to make blanket comments about people and sit on a soapbox, then by all means.


Again, if you are craving a good steak from a nice steak house, do you sit outside TGI Fridays and insult the people eating there?

Just using your logic.
