After reading your posts, I must ask the same question. Your experience is what? You guys are captains of the 12+ ratings, whiich nobody looks at. So, Russ will be gone in a year? Who wants to throw down cash? Furthermore, the show did very well in Austin, per the ratings. The problem was the dip PD running things.

Please post your radio experience so I know the expertise from which you speak.
They post here. Does that count?

Well, it started when I noticed the spark I got connecting up a battery made my gas lamp flicker. I told my friend Marconi about it, and how the Ionosphere could reflect the radio waves back down to earth many miles away. I developed a feedback principal for a vacuum tube to amplify the signal, which I explained to my friend Lee, but he almost lost the patent for it, when he couldn't explain it in court. Edwin kept bugging me about how lightning caused a crackling sound, so I showed him that modulating the frequency instead of the amplitude would fix that. I was proud of how my little discovery had created a profitable business model, but it started to come unraveled when my remote picture viewing system started to catch on, so I showed Storer that you could get a feel for how popular various songs are by checking the rack jobbers and the juke-box vendors. My friend Rush was struggling in his career at the Royals, so I suggested he might want to develop some strong convictions and an entertaining way to communicate them. Then Lowry told me he wanted to make more money, so we went to Congress and explained the benefits of consolidation. Now I'm working part time at the traffic service... does that count as radio experience?

dallas radio fan, the experienced posters here, all seem to know a great deal more than you. There was no ratings success for Russ in Austin. And, there is very little in Dallas. If you look at his ratings, 12+, in demo, out of demo, doesn't matter...His cume is VERY thin, his numbers come from inflated TSL which gives the show it's AQH.

In a ppm world, Russ Martin is a non issue, because real numbers will substantially lower is TSL and even if he gets a bump in cume...the guy will fall out of the top 5...IN DEMO. And THAT will spell the end for LIVE 105.3. Now, tell me...Russ has gotten on the wrong side of DFW Radio Management, who will want to give a guy like that another shot?

My experience isn't the issue. Those are the facts.
