Russ Martin - The End

tah said:
Normally Observer articles about Russ get 100+ comments very quickly. At the time I'm typing this, there are only 57 comments. Either people just don't care about RMS anymore or his former audience can't be bothered to read and comprehend that many words strung together. ;)

Or...they take it for what it is...a column in the Observer. So good, it's free!

I find it amusing once more that Ebola Monkey lampoons BDH and the Observer for being biased ,yet in the same post he claims he worked with Russ and likes him. Isn't that bias as well.

As for the comment about Tyler Cox,he knows whose signing his checks and likes what he sees. He surrendered sticking up for the staff when his contract was signed.

As for Mark and his long ago affair <whom he maried after a divorce from his then wife who was stricken with MS,are you really surprised? After all look at his political party affiliation office holders; One former senator in a bathroom, another senator in a state that legilizes prostitution, and a Gov who decided to have a true international affair in Argentina, plus recently a state senator in Tenn. Its part of their philosophy, do as I speak ,and turn a blind eye to what I do.

I answered a question from some else's post. I never lampooned anyone except Freepers. And I did that pretty mildly.

Are there seriously people who are shocked that 99% of Russ' bits were fake? Seriously?
"You mean to tell me that he didn't get into a car, dangle it from a crane, and drop it????"
"You mean to tell me that he didn't put his boss' office furniture through a wood chipper???"
“You mean Eddie Boyd didn’t just pack up and mysteriously quit one evening, without ever being heard from again???”
“You mean to tell me that there really wasn’t anyone mailing pig and cow hearts to Russ???”
Come on, people. It was obvious during the airing of those bits that they were faked. They were still funny, but anybody with any sense should of been able to tell that the show was theater of the mind. Hell, Russ said that almost everyday. Here is a tip for future reference: if the bit sounds fake and the person perpetrating the bit repeatedly says things like, "This is theater of the mind" and "90% of what we say on air is fake"....it is probably fake. Think about it.

Actually that's a bad example. I was there the day Eddie quit. And, yes, he was pretty much never heard from again. I think he and Russ talked a couple times over the years. IIRC

"BDH wants to go on about the bits being fake. Wow, next thing you know he will try to tell me the Easter Bunny isnt real."

WHAT? The Easter Bunny isn't real? What about Santa Claus?

What about Toledo?

I find it appalling that an article speaks the truth and Russ' diehard followers believe the article and anything JD, Dan, etc. posts on the internet is a bit. Where are the fans who think it would have been funny if the arrest was a bit? Is everything Russ does a bit?

Shhhhh! Be careful, you may awaken 5515. ;)

I really don't care. I will agree Russ was a great talk show host many years ago. I could tell something wasn't right back in '05 when he and Mandy argued with him on the air...oh wait that's a bit. That article makes so much sense now. You know, I feel sorry for the hardcore fans because this has been over analyzed for a year. Just look at other message boards. I read the comments on the Observer article. No one could accept what Dan and J.D. said in the article. Someone asked here on the board what evidence could be given to prove something about Russ. There's nothing. It is like a JFK conspiracy. No evidence can because these fans over analyze everything. Acceptance of the truth is impossible.

An article written by someone who doesn't like Russ Martin. What did you expect? Of course it is biased.

Written by someone who doesn't like Russ, but also supported by people who were on his show and worked with him closely for years.

Toledo is closed ,and will reopen in October. Like the Collge grad said, Russ's Lemmings refuse to be detered and flock to his website like he is a messiah. If there was ever a textbook example of sociology and psychiatry it would be RM.People of the past who exhibited the same mannerisms towards fellow humn beings often were diagnosed as sheltered ,and (not a prediction here) did not have a very long life span due to their inner demons of depression. Calling Dr. Phil!!

of course Whitt's biased. I'm not sure he's going for complete objectivity; that simply doesn't exist these days.
Even if only about 10% of that story is really true, I'm disturbed by the amount of hubris and ego.
(and yes, I'd agree that JD coming out NOW to say something isn't exactly courageous)

and I'll say this understanding that there are a number of you who look down on Richard Hunter (fair enough, I'm not here to defend his radio career). I've known Richard for a few years now, and I've never ever seen or heard him talk about ANYone (including George Bush) like he has about Russ.
And there have been some people that were annoying as hell connected with his show on the Ticket that would have deserved some kind of ire.

Again, grain of salt, yada yada.

Now that its all been pretty much said and written plus digested as well as regurgitated, can we conclude the Russ Martin topic? It's over and all its accomplishing is doing what he desires; attention. He's gone.

Russ Martin = still the most popular topic of these boards. HAHA!

And did you ever stop to think that JD's comments in the article could also be part of the bits? And you keep falling for them.

Uhhh Ben... Are you actually reading any of the posts in these threads? A few posters think JD's comments are phoney and a few think they are real.
