Russ returning before June!?!?

From his twitter, http://twitter.com/RussMartinShow:
"RussMartinShow: Aloha, little buddies. Dropping off a coupla Howells in the lagoon, then off to the gym. Planning an RMS Band concert in early June.
about 7 hours ago from txt "
"RussMartinShow: Also with the RMS band, planning a car show. Maybe I'll be back on the radio by then to promote it...or... on something.
about 7 hours ago from txt "

Interesting....

Funny. So will this concert benefit the foundation or will proceeds go to saving Russ' assets?

Saving Russ' assets???? Is he hurting for money? Let's not forget, he's off the air, not in the breadline. CBS is still paying out a couple years of his HUGE contract! His "assets don't need saving yet.

I might be wrong, but I think the suggestion of Russ saving his assets, was intended as sarcasim. For the time being, his assets are safe. Now his ass, is another story.

Today from his twitter:
"....Was working on a studio in my house....."

He is either dropping all kinds of hints wanting us to think he is coming back or he is coming back. On a side note, I think it is funny he has only had his twitter account around a week and he already has more people following him than Jagger has following him.

Do you have any idea how many jocks have studios in their home? With radio the way it is, many jocks have "home studios" which usually only consist of a mic, mixer and audio program. This is no big thing. Move on. Please.

I'm embarrased to admit it, but mine also has cart machines, an open reel deck, cassette decks and even a turntable. :-[ Oh and I have one of those cute little fm transmitters too. Audio from the mixer goes into the PC line input, gets processed with MBL4, then goes to the little transmitter. Oh and I forgot I also have DAT machines.

Except for the HHB stand alone CD recorder, everything else still works. :D

I believe if I am not mistaken...Russ's no-compete ends in June 2009 cause he was released from 105.3 on December of last year...and most DJs have a 6 month no-compete.

But in all honesty...why would he even want to come back on the air? 105.3 The Fan said they would honor his contract which runs until 2011.

If I was getting paid 6 figures to ride batmobiles and work out and toilet paper houses...I wouldn't come back either.

True, but he's always had a basic setup at home like that, so I don't see why he would post what he did unless it was MAJOR upgrade.

Sweet!! Can I come over and make a new aircheck? You never know who's hiring these days...

You guys want to bone up on contracts. His no-compete starts when the contract ends, why in the hell would CBS give a man under contract until 2011 a no compete clause that ends in June 2009?

He's not allowed to even be on the radio because he's under contract. Texas is a right to work state so he can opt out of the contract but that's when the no compete starts.

I would wonder what consideration they would be offering for the non-compete to exist.

They are pretty hard to enforce in Texas anyways, but I don't see how there was any consideration for this... unless it is specifically in his contract and part of the paying out the contract is the consideration.

You can't enforce a one-sided contract with no consideration.

For example I can have you sign a contract that says you have to give me 1,000 a day for 1 year, because.

You would not be bound to honor it, because I did not provide any consideration to you.
