Russ's D Magazine interview.....

Not really paying attention to what goes on outside of the (some might say, ever-shrinking) big band world, I have to give kudos to RM (and anyone else) for getting a deal that includes a contract in radio broadcasting.

Personally, I have very little interest in doing radio that isn't format-specific to Big Band and Adult Standards. I doubt that I'll ever be in a position to have a "no-matter-what" kind of contract in that genre, nevertheless, anyone who can demand and/or acquire a seemingly ironclad contract in this business that pays you for not working has my lasting respect and admiration - especially now as I'm rolling coins to pay the light bill!

Russ - if you're ever doing negotiation seminars and there's is no charge - let me know. I will be attending and taking notes.

Anything for attention, and he got it. Let it be the last interview. He's gone, history ,outta here,.bye bye, adios.don't let the backdoor hit your rump. Next interview source:Children's Digest

When he sits down with someone who will actually confront him about his BS...then he might be worth a listen or read. Fluff pieces aren't gonna get it.

Cary, I don't know how or why you lost out at KAAM, but you shouldn't have. And you replacement is surely a nice person, although I don't know her, but she's 100% inappropriate in your time slot. Actually an inappropriate talent at the station.

Hope Mr. Crawford calls you back...this time with your own iron-clad contract. I frankly wish he'd study your former boss, Big Dave Morris, who had station ownership-management down pat. He was a good guy.

I think it's naive at best, ignorant as a stump at worst, to think that he won't be back on the air in some capacity, the minute his contract allows, if not before, say once it gets low enough for him to negotiate a signing bonus worth the balance on the contract, hmmmmm?

When you have people sidestepping their morals to allow the likes of Michael "I hope both your knees get's blown out" Vick back into the league, what makes you think that a radio exec won't feel comfortable in late 2010 to give Russ another shot?? People have the attention spans of un-medicated A.D.D. suffering Wombats, Russ's story is so old news, by the time he's back on the air people will only get reminded of it by him, because he'll use the story as show material. Hell, until someone decides to take a shot at this plane bomber they just let go in Scotland, my view on the the state of social structure of this world is in the crapper. Why just recently I saw a commercial for the designer snuggie!!! What??? As if a blanket with sleeves in one of three original fantastic colors was not enough, now they blow our minds with zebra and leopard prints too, oh bless the Lord I can die with my bucket list empty now!! Obviously I'm not serious, but this is what I mean, they made those because the first one's were so popular!! This is were we are at, sleeved blanket wearing a-holes cheering for convicts on our sports teams, while waiting for the pizza guy to come and bring us pizza with no crust, cuz the toppings are to the edge ya'll!!, so why is it impossible to think that Russ won't get another shot?

Did anyone else think Howard Beale after reading this post?
