Ryan Chambers Pleads Guilty

I helped "train" this goof back in the late 90's at KIDO-AM in Boise. His Dad took over the Clear Channel cluster and moved his boy into a board op position while I was there. Immediately, my hours started shrinking in favor for Ryan. I knew my days we're numbered so I left and moved on to a TV station here in Boise.

This kid is a complete tool, just like his Dad. This situation is classic "Chambers Men Behavior"...His Dad was moved out of Kentucky to Boise for allegedly, sleeping with Sales people and hitting on Randy Michaels wife during a dinner. Allegedly, he was also having sexual relations with the sales staff here in Boise.

Then his retarded idiot of a son picks up a request line phone one day in of the FM studios at the old Oywhee Plaza building. The caller wants to request a song, Ryan tells the caller he'll play the song for listener and give them $10,000 if they would call the main phone number for The White House and had them to tell the operator that they wanted to "Kill the President"...

The FBI was at the radio station in under 10 minutes.

There used to be a big glass door between the main offices and the hallway leading into the station. When I arrived in the building after this happened, you had Brad and his ever-so-smart son standing in-between the glass doors, talking to the FBI agents on the phone thru the glass to try and calm the situation down.

Everyone in the building when the incident happened got fired including the IT guy and a news person who had no clue what Ryan was doing. Everyone got fired...except for Ryan...

I'm am completely unmoved and unsurprised that this more serious situation happened later in the future with Ryan. The apple doesn't really fall far from the tree as his Father thought he could get away with whatever he wanted to do without consequence.

It's the Karma Circle, folks.
 
The Chambers family existence in Boise's Clear Channel stations we're just plain two faced, just like everything with that company it seemed.

When Brad came into Boise and "tweaked the station cluster for improvement" when four of the six stations operated by CC at the time we're all in the Top 3 inside their target demographics. AM Idaho on KIDO with Jon and Chris in Morning Drive's ratings were #1 25-54 Adults and #1 35+, beating KBOI 2 years in a row. KLTB was in the Top 3 overall and #2 only to KIDO in other target demographics for at least the past year. KARO/"Arrow 103.3" was just a year into the new Current Rock format and really started showing up strong in their targets. K-106 was also a powerhouse at that time.

All I know is the people at the Owyhee Plaza before Brad and Ryan's existance had tons better morale before they showed up. After his way of doing things was observed, people began leaving left and right. To me, messing with people was a game to Brad. He didn't care about anyone else personally. He didn't care if you worked your jobs at two, sometimes three and in my case four different facilities, He only wanted it done his way. If he didn't like it or you didn't like it, there was no negotiations, he was just someone who didn't care what you had already done or what you were doing in the line of duty. He wanted people to feel like they were being dragged around to do "everything and anything possible" so could to keep your job.

In my case, I was halfway out the door and working in a TV control room about 16 months into the Chambers Reign of Terror.

Telling Brad Chambers to go stick it where the sun don't shine was pretty nice for me too. I was in the middle of an 16 day marathon work schedule, working between two different jobs and had a scheduled and planned Monday off. I already had the work done he wanted me to do but just wouldn't leave me alone on the phone on my day off. Then this jerk off wants me to come into work at 6:30pm to do the final production layout, dubbing the audio into the computer. I was scheduled to be in the building at 4:30am the next day. I explained this to him but he would not quit insisting that I come into the building and do about 2 hours worth of work.

I told him I was done, right there. I was tired. I was done dealing with him.

Hell, all I wanted to do was watch Wrestling that night...
 
Reading this, I am not sure who this tirade is about, Ryan, or his father, Brad. Ryan's actions are indeed reprehensible and need no further comment. The rest sounds like a disgruntled employee. Brad came into CC Boise with some new ideas, not all of which worked. Ratings go up or down, and it is not always the OM's doing, good or bad. Brad also tried to build an Idaho network of stations. One could argue over the ultimate success of that, but why not keep this focused. Ryan made some very bad mistakes, but Brad tried to do his job to the best of his ability. Perhaps this should be two different threads.

If that's the best Brad could do, I could have hired a bunch of Special Olympians that would have done a better job.

Brad made choices that hurt the group of Boise stations, period. This point will not be argued by anyone because the proof is in what happened after both men arrived in Boise. The point is simple. Brad wasn't there and all the products we're top notch products, besides the little spats between people, the morale of the workers was positive and everyone enjoyed working with each other.

Brad took over, changed things and the ratings went to sh*t. Brad implemented changes in a #1 News/Talk morning drive show and completely messed with a winning formula that had been working for Jon Duane for over 20 years. In 1994, Jon took KIDO and made it a #1 station for 2+ years running without any outside help. Brad comes in and less than 6 months into the situation, the entire show was one move away from moving to KBOI. Brad's entire network was created on Jon and Chris' hard work and performance. The network idea was a joke. It never worked.

Those are THE facts.

Secondly, Brad's job in Boise was to play nice as Operations Manager. Brad had a second job in Boise...Corporate Consolidation...He was Clear Channel's "Boy" in Boise to weed people out and to carry out the consolidation of all 6 CC Boise properties.

"This Tirade" is about both of the two "men"...The main point was, "The Acorn doesn't fall too far from the tree"...Brad's lack of parental skills help lead to this situation for Ryan. I knew both men in the time period of their lives where Ryan could have used a Dad, instead he got Brad, the Operations Manager.

I feel sorry for Ryan in a small way, you can't choose who you are genetically connected too...BUT you can choose who's coat tails to ride when you have little or no talent. You can choose who you hurt. You can choose who to treat with respect and professionalism. You can choose who you don't screw out of an on-air position in favor for your no-talent kid.

They didn't care about my future, why should I care about them?

No one will have to worry about Ryan now. A 9X9 foot concrete and steel cell will handle all of his problems.
 
Can somebody tell me what this Ryan guy did? I'm ex-Idaho radio, but have been gone a loooong time.
