Ryan Seacrest in Greenville

I'm curious why Ryan Seacrest, an iHeart personality, is not on My102.5, but, instead, is on Entercom's B93.7. Why would iHeart allow that to happen? Don't they usually keep talent like that on company owned stations? I think he'd totally fit just fine on 102.5, given the format.

Does B-93.7 still carry AT-40? From what a friend of mine who works at the local AT-40 affiliate, Premiere Networks gives AT-40 affiliates the right of first refusal on On-Air and vice versa. Plus, if someone else wants to carry both and you decline, they'll yank whichever program you carry and give both to the competition.

Not sure if it's still the case, but Entercom got around that requirement in Milwaukee for a few years by carrying AT-40 on WXSS and On-Air on WYMX. Pretty sure it had a similar arrangement in Norfolk with WNVZ and WPTE, too.

Maybe it has to do with previous contract agreements, or perhaps iHeart does not feel Ryan Seacrest is the best fit for My102.5, which is more Adult Contemporary rather than Hit Music format. But Ryan Seacrest is carried on iHeart Hit Music station Channel 96.1 from Charlotte, which does seem like a better fit, as well as B-93.7 in the Upstate, although owned by Entercom rather than iHeart. So perhaps just a format decision rather than station ownership.
