Ryan Seacrest may leave radio

Would he also be leaving AT40, and would that kind of put an end to the program?

Something tells me we haven't seen the last of Ryan Seacrest on the radio...

His Clear Channel deal is for KIIS Mornings. His Premiere deal for the midday show is totally separate. It will be interesting to see if he walks away from all of it, or just the gig that requires he get up at 4am.

His midday show is just replays of his morning show, so if the he is gone from mornings, then he is gone from midday's, unless he will start a live midday show

The story from the link states he'll still do the weekend AT40 show, so he won't be leaving CC completely. Doesn't CC own Premiere?

I expect my local CHR (Kiss 95.3) would use whatever the Clear Channel's weekday replacement for Seacrest will be. They don't use local.

He doesn't have to do a live anything. He will just need to find a different content source for his midday show. He could very easily do it in half the time it takes to do a full morning show.

And yes, CC does own Premiere, but again...different contracts. It's Ryan's responsibility to come up with the content for the midday show. It states nothing about it having to come from his CC morning show.

Frankly, I think his midday show could benefit from him not doing mornings. Michael Yo's PM Drive show on Y100 got a LOT better (and more focused) when E! picked him up and he moved to LA. And the ratings reflect it.

"On Air" isn't all that great to begin with.

AT40 is well produced and fills four hours of programming. It's not going anywhere.

I totally agree on all 3 counts.
