Ryan Seacrest question

There has been a great deal of ballyhoo about Ryan Seacrest working at 94. Did he work in radio anywhere else before 94? What about After ATL and before ATL? Or is he just one of those guys who worked two markets his whole career and both of them Top Ten?

From what I understand from my co-worker who graduated with him at Dunwoody High, he did not do anything with radio before Star 94. He applied for an internship out of high school at Star 94 and worked the overnight shift for a year and then went on to Hollywood to work for ESPN on their show "Radical Outdoor Challenge." I believe after that he went to work at KIIS in Los Angeles as a DJ.

I believe his first radio job in L.A. was at Star 98.7 (KYSR-FM), where he did afternoon drive. Clear Channel then moved him to sister station KIIS-FM to replace Rick Dees in mornings.

Before KYSR, Ryan Seacrest did afternoons at sister Clear Channel KIOI San Francisco for at least a year or two. This was around 1997. I don't think he stayed at KIOI too long before heading to KYSR.

There is a KIOI aircheck of Ryan on California Aircheck Current Issue #207 from 1997.

That sounds about right. I listened to his show on KYSR when I lived in SoCal. I wasn't really impressed.
