Ryan "the Busiest Guy on TV" Seacrest Just Got Busier (Olympic Host)

Seacrest just landed the gig as host of the 2012 NBC Olympics

Ryan Seacrest is adding another gig to his expansive resume: NBC Olympics correspondent, making his debut for this summer's London Games.

In a sitdown with the Today show's Matt Lauer on Wednesday, the multi-hyphenate TV host and producer said the plan "is for me to join the NBC family and continue to have a role at the E! Network. The first assignment will be to join the primetime team for the Olympics on NBC."

He will NEVER out-McKay Jim McKay. Ever. I know there's a cross-pollination involved, but there's already enough sports and on-air personnel (notice I didn't quite say 'talent') to cover all the angles without Mr. 25/7 sticking his foot in that door too.

I wonder when we're ever going to hear that Seacrest has *lost* a job (or an opportunity to land a gig) to someone else.

And already, a number of people are shelling out hundreds for a "grey market" Canadian satellite system (so they can watch CTV's coverage of the Olympics (they snagged the rights from CBC some years ago)).

And I don't get CTV [CIVT 32], anywhere in Seattle. The only Vancouver our cable gives us is CBUT [CBC], unless if you move to Whatcom or Skagit County you can get CIVT on cable.

Next busiest guy, or at least becoming the busiest.... Mike Rowe. He has his show Dirty Jobs. Spokesman for Ford, Wrangler Jeans, Bounty Paper Towels. I am sure I am missing one. He may be signing on for more, but that is purely spectulation.

I don't think anyone said he would.

He won't out-Cosell Howard Cosell either.

He's not even Tom Hammond.

Hell, he's not even Brent Musburger, Jim Nantz, Chris Berman, Ernie Johnson, Dick Enberg, Marv Albert, Greg (or Bryant) Gumbel, or even Joe Buck!

So, they'll have Seacrest doing all the puff pieces about the host city's culture and cuisine that was normally reserved for the former female tennis pro turned anchor/host whose name escapes me?
