First, that is a disgusting way of expressing whatever it is you want to say.

The Beat was off in November (as is normal when you get a new competitor), but retained its lead in 12+ and 12-17 and 18-34, with KPWT waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind.

Latest ratings:

Is KONO slowly slipping away from dominance? Are fresh new ideas needed at KONO? KTFM had a nice UP trend compared to KONO. Just think if KTFM had the signal and promotional budget KONO had, Heritage (kono) or not KTFM just might pull a head of KONO the next year.

Will the new pd at KQXT revive the once Dominant AC?

Will somebody put Magic out of it's misery?

How is me saying the Beat [EDIT] offensive????? This board is more censored than commercial broadcast.

Power wailed on the Beat. It's over for the Beat.

With Soft Rock 101.9 announcing that a new beginning will be announce on Jan 2., should say where the station is headed too. Personally, I think Whoopi will end up doing mornings. Whether the AC format remains or if Clear Channel decides to flip it to Rhythmic AC as it's done with other AC stations remains to be heard. One thing certain, the peeps at BMP Radio will be tuned in to 101.9 come next Tuesday. ;D

Hey moderator, since you edit every one of my posts why don't we all kneel down and pray then eat milk and cookies?

How do I say this so you don't edit it? The Beat got a reality check this trend. Their days of being #1 are over with the fall book. I hear even Hamm Sandwich got Beaten.

So who has the #s on the latest trends?
12+, 12-17, 18-34, 25-54

I also hear the KBBT got a reality check but i have not seen the numbers!

From what i hear...

Power jumped all over the beat 18-34 in middays, afternoons, and nights...

and all this with out mornings or middays? i would hate to see what happens when they add these elements???

reminds me of a quote i once heard

guess soft ACs are becomming a thing of the past. I heard "Time of your Lfe" by Green Day on 101.9 the other day. Guess they're running out of Bee Gees and Celine Dion to play in their so-called soft ac playlist. But another rhythmic? Guess it would be a more contempory version of Jammin with a lean on contemporary R&B...I hope.

thank god saradio1 chimed in! What ever would we do without your knowledge?!?!?!

Actually, saradio1 may be right. CC has recently been changing stations into Rhythmic AC. They have been doing so with some stations over the US (Philadelphia, Denver, and Vegas and have also tweaked their NYC station into a more Rythimic AC direction) and I don't think they will stop anytime soon.

They have flipped a few, the most recent a few days ago, but they haven't seen results. Rhythmic AC is, at least out of the starting gate, proving to be a real turkey. Branding doesn't seem to matter much, either. Philly is off from where it was as smooth jazz and has already began making changes after less than six months, and Movin' is proving to be a mistake pretty much everywhere it's been done outside of Seattle. While Soft Rock 101.9 hasn't had the 25-54 numbers it used to get, I can't imagine rhythmic AC doing any better. However, I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if Clear Channel did do rhythmic AC. After all, they did just ignore their common sense and launch another one a few days ago.

Here's a few links of what 101.9 might sound like come Jan 2. All stations owned by CC.

www.931theparty.com - Vegas
www.939kissfm.com -Raliegh

Tuesday Jan 2: 101.9 drops the Soft Rock moniker and also drops the Point in the frequency. Music more uptempo but still ac. Bright ac if you will. And Whoppi will NOT be on in the morning. Connoly stays.

Done deal.

Oh, if only saradio1 was in charge of all decisions in the market, we'd be better off. What a genius that guy is. :p

From All Access:

KQXT Tweaks Format To Become 'The New Q 1019'

The New Look
CLEAR CHANNEL AC KQXT/SAN ANTONIO has tweaked the format and marketing.

OM/PD GEORGE KING explains, "We are very excited to announce that we have launched the new Q 1019 today with a new slogan, 'The New Q 1019, the best variety while you work'; a new look; a new jock schedule with JIM CONLEE mornings, DONNA MCCOY middays and SCOTTY MAC in pm drive; a new website (www.q1019.com); and a new attitude. The new Q 1019 wants to be the 'at work' station in the SAN ANTONIO market. Our music will be more up-tempo as we continue to play the best and biggest hits."

In my opinion, the station still sounds the same.
