S.D. RATINGS RELEASED-Winter '09 Phase I Arbitrend Nov-Dec-Jan

Still no ratings for KLSD Sports Radio. Time to pull the plug?

It's already pulled, the audience isn't listening.

I think Sophie's selling. I always hear a lot of commercials when I tune in. So as long as they're making money they won't change. It's a fairly inexpensive format. 97.1 changed to Amp in LA because it was such an expensive format, they just weren't making a profit. In this economy it's not about ratings, but whether or not there's a client base.

Plus I think everyone's waiting for PPM to take effect because all the stations that are doing bad, have a younger audience. Younger generations don"t have home phone's (just cell) so they don"t get Arbitron diaries.

Not to nitpick, but hearing a lot of commercials could also mean they are selling the spots dirt-cheap, or giving a lot of clients bonus spots.

But I agree with you 100% that ratings aren't as important as a client base, or as important as making a profit. (JACK makes more of a profit than STAR did, for example, although STAR's ratings were much higher.)
