looks like kj pd geo kings time will run out this coming week. word inside cc is that mack daniels will be pd of kvet/kase and kaja by wed. cactus loo is already in talks to be in house go to guy
 
That doesn't make any sense. Why would CC, who has people in house that could run KJ (that is if King is out like you say) have someone out of the market take over? Run two Austin stations and one SA station? Nah, I don't buy it. Guess only time will tell.

Doesn't CC have the same PD for WMZQ/DC and WPOC/Baltimore? I have no idea if cleto74 is correct, but it wouldn't be unprecedented.

hmmm i guess you're right. i know king, he is good peoples. i hope this is just a rumor.
 
Why not? They're broke. Cut, cut, cut. Maximize shareholder value, your multimillion kwaatlu bonus depends on it. Sacrifice the workers but save the suits. Why pay 2 or 3 people to do the same job when you can get away with only paying one? Generic, cookie cutter, one size fits all, syndicated, remote controlled, voice tracked, prerecorded content sent from one hard drive to various transmitters. CC's version of R&B KSJL was a perfect example of some kind of impersonal, obviously non-local, geographically anonymous and indistinguishable canned radio with lame voice tracked DJs, 1-800 phone numbers and fake sounding listeners on air requests, not to mention never heard before and horrible so called R&B. Besides, its only country music. Its the krap, sheet-hop sound that only matters.
 
There might be 40 miles between Baltimore and D.C. so that seems a little different. Are there other C.C. markets that have co-P.D. situations? Austin and San Antonio seem a little farther apart, but I'm just looking at a map. Also, I worked with George King before, assuming that he does leave the station I'm not sure that anyone would even notice that he wasn't there.
 
It's not CC, but Entercom has Scott Mahalick programming both the WOLF in San Francisco and in Seattle.
 
SA and Austin share a growing listener base between Austin and San Antonio.
Back in 1980 it was empty land. Now I pass half a dozen Targets and Best Buys on the drive between Austin and San Antonio. And CC stations in Austin and SA share this coverage area.
 
To my knowledge, King is still employed... nice tip there, Cleto.

San Antonio CC involved in this? Flipping Power 106 Urban to a Young Country format, just two hours after a new Country Station enters the market? This shows lack of confidence in CC syracuse staff and their established WBBS. New Wolf Station will take revenue and take names.
 
It's karma. All of these CC guys like King play the "good corporate soldier" firing people for the higher ups. They never think that eventually it will be them. It all comes back.
 
So CC syracuse, ny pulls a "stunt" and plays Young Country on their established Urban station to get back at the new Country station in town. Then CC goes back to Urban! ha! Stupid move and probably not corporate dictated. What a dumb way to answer to new competition. Years ago CC would have sat high in the saddle beaming with confidence. Now they cower in the tumbleweeds.
 
The King is still in place, Cactus Lou has left the building to pursue a record label position
 
king is out as i told you. contract needed to end. thank all for thinking i am an idiot. why would i post if i was not sure it was true. ramirez leaving abruptly caused a delay. next time i post, pay attention. there will be a test later.
 
LOL so let's see you predicted this in July and it came true (finally) in October... so what will the winning lotto number be in January.
 
this was not a prediction. this was knowledge of what was taking place inside. i did not know when king contract ended, but i did know when it was decided that he would not be renewed. but if i had winning lotto number for july, would you not still be patient and play to win?:
