Cox Classic Hits 101.1 KONO-FM expands its San Antonio lead up 7.6 to 8.2. iHeartMedia AC “Q101.9” KQXT slips down 7.2 to 6.4. Cox Rock 99.5 KISS surges up 4.4 to 6.1 for what Huff notes is its highest share since March 2017. iHeartMedia Country “KJ 97” KAJA is up 5.1 to 5.9. Cox Classic Rock “106.7 The Eagle” KTKX is up 5.6 to 5.7.

Cox Country “Y100” KCYY jumps up from 3.7 to 4.7. iHeartMedia CHR “96.1 Now” KXXM rebounds 5.0 – 3.1 – 3.9. Alpha Media News/Talk 550/107.1 KTSA trends up 2.1 – 2.6 – 3.0

94.1- Was the flip from Top 40 to Sports worth it? Last month's PPM was 0.06. This month 0.07. IMO, bring back KTFM and let it be music driven with NO morning or nighttime show.

95.1 & 104.5 both have great signals throughout the city but lack listeners. Univision or Iheartradio should pull the plug on the Latino Hits format however; Univision is likely riding it out until Iheartradio drops the format.

Tejano 95.7- the decline has begun down from 2.6 to 1.9. It could be a hiccup but if anything, it proves people will listen to 95.7. Perhaps, Country or Classic Country will be more of a fit on that frequency.

107.5 Vibe- This station could be so much more. Hot 97.5 Phoenix, KTU, and others come to mind.

94.1- Was the flip from Top 40 to Sports worth it? Last month's PPM was 0.06. This month 0.07. IMO, bring back KTFM and let it be music driven with NO morning or nighttime show.

They must be thinking they're doing something right.

Spanish-language listening was down virtually across the board this past book. Only 105.7 saw any increase in share or cume, and both were only barely up.

Highly unlikely unfortunately. However, with 99.5 being the powerhouse they are with ratings, I wish I could see a contender to them with an alt-rock or even another active rocker (with newer music).

It's a matter of who's going to blink first for 104.5 or 95.1, iHeart or Univision. 95.1 has always been the flanker and pivoted to protect their own but now it's a new game with KBBT playing side chick to KVBH and KROM circling down.

Tejano 95.7/103.3 seems to be making a play downward.. Consumers of the format are subjected to a horribly tight classic Tejano playlist and a sprinkle of AM/PM drive personalities. Both signals lack penetration albeit they get decent South and West SA coverage- their intended targets. But I cant picture a panelist picking up a listenable feed outside of 410 N- hence growth into the 3 shares from this point.

It wasn't that long ago that 92.9 and 98.5 were at the top. Too many staff cuts? Poor programming? Lack of connection with the listeners? What happened?

Does 98.5 still have any local DJs left except HAMM? I think he's still on in afternoons.

Was gonna check the website, however I don't know Spanish and the site looks like it's half Spanish.

Just my opinion: 98.5 is not as "office friendly" for general PPM listening- depends on the intab panelists' behavior that month. Vibe 107.5 gives off the Rhythmic AC flavor with AM/PM local personalities (Xavier/Robbie Rob), combine that with a monster signal. If they could just offload the urban/strong R&B back to the Beat and add more 88-92 New Jack swing, Vibe has a shot at general market KONO/KQXT (Cox/iHeart) - just swing the needle to more Pop titles and less Rhythmix but unsure what UVN corporate programming has on the books.

Definitely, I’ve also heard stuff on KONO go as far ahead as 2003. They’ve been playing songs from Nysnc, Backstreet Boys, Smooth by Santana, and they play the 2003 version of Drift Away. The oldest songs are Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison and Heard it through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye. Which were added back to their playlist recently.

I agree there could be a well programmed rhythmic AC station in San Antonio, that competes with some of the other stations maybe one that updates it’s playlist every few months or year or so. The problem as you mentioned is the burn out, they have decades of music to go through and play the same 40-100 songs every day.

Too bad KXTJ-LP doesn't have a better signal. They play rhythmic AC.

I’ve listened to that station a few times online and a few times driving around the far westside. It’s a good station but they do play a lot of obscure stuff that most people probably don’t remember or have heard of. One minute I’m listening to Michael Jackson’s Beat It, the next I’m listening to some freestyle song I’ve never heard before or listening to some random song by Shalamar or Morris Day. They also tend to throw in the occasional 70’s-80’s soft rock hits.

96.1 HD2 Flipped from Hot AC to 80s. The format sounds very Wisconsin and nothing like SA sounded back in the 80s.

I would prefer IHeart use the "Lost 80s" format available on their Iheart app. It has more of that Rhythmic SA feel.

Creeping into the 2 shares is a remarkable achievement of its own. Probably more impressive than what KQQK has done in Houston considering how terrible the signal is in SA. Sure, the listeners may be a bit outdated for advertisers' liking. But what else can you do with that terrible rimshot facility? And let's not forget that there are three other Tejano stations in the market trimming some listeners off the top as well. There's an entire share of listeners just between KEDA and KXTN. KLEY could probably use some tweaking in order to stave off the AM competitors. Maybe add some of the more popular Norteño/Regional Mexican crossovers to freshen up the playlist.

Sadly, this is about as good as it gets for KLEY. Suggesting another format seems a bit shortsighted considering 95.7 hasn't had these type of numbers in a while.

They should just flip to TX country/Americana when the Tejano numbers die down if you ask me, LOL the only other signal with that is 92.1 KNBT, KNBT is good but only available on the north side of town.
