Sac morning radio gets new player?

ok, so I am a DEDICATED knci person "i am a bit of a fan you could say:)"

I listen to the Wolf for the sole reason that I have no idea why they are in the game out here. THey have been running promo's for a "new morning show". There are small clips of "dave" in the promo's, I cant really tell wht he is about due to the brevety of the clips. THey say "he" will hit the air on Thursday, I thought the Wolf was on the way out because Rick Stewart left the building? does anyone know anything?

In all fairness, it is very unusual to be impressed by someone's first day on the air in morning drive. I haven't listened but I will most likely check him out at some point. However, he probably won't be at his best for a few weeks. I doubt Pat and Tom or Rob, Arnie and Dawn were stellar morning jocks on their first days... or weeks... or months for that matter.
 
the wolf is sticking around. i'm betting they give knci a real run for their money within the next six months - say what?

If the Wolf indeed does stick it out for at least two years they WILL beat KNCI. Mark Evans the PD at KNCI is lame. He will crumble with good consistant competition, that's why he's at CBS :D
 
Not that I would automatically defend Mark Evans -- but if he's so "lame," why have he - and KNCI - been at or near the top of the ratings for the last decade? And, don't tell me its because there's been no competition...

KNCI has not only vanquished competitors but also beaten other formats in the market CONSISTENTLY for as long as most of us can remember. The Wolf, after a brief spike at its launch last summer, has settled back to the neighborhood of 17th place -- about where it was as "Boss Radio" drew last year.

As for The Wolf beating KNCI, it could happen. Does anyone have any real reason to believe it will?
 
I think the imaging is WAY better on the wolf and the music seems to pack more of a punch. knci is so bland but I still love it, I think only for the reason that its been here forever.
 
Just wondering if former Real Country 92.1 night guy Jim Hawk(sp) is still in town and cruising this board???

As far as i know KNCI has NOT had COUNTRY competition while Mark Evans was there. If The Wolf gets their act together and stays in the game long enough they WILL beat KNCI. Simply put, mark evans doesn't have the programming savvy to go up against an entertaining radio station like the Wolf.

Having said that Entrvision ain't the smartest cookie in the batch. They're not that stabe and have already had changes in their first 9mos on air so there ya go.

That's right KNCI has been around forever. Mark Evans inherited a heritage station and with little or no country competition of course KNCI will be top dog.
 
Stability continues to be a problem with 101.9 The Wolf. First their morning guy left, now their midday gal is going to The Wolf in SF.
 
WHatever happened to the first morning guy? and who is the new guy? whats his story?
 
What happened to the original guy, I think his name was Wingnut (whats up w/ that?) Also why did they replace his fill in of 4ish months Chase Montgomery, way to confuse the listener. Just like your Mama used to say if it ain't broke don't fix it :-\

I agree. How many morning people have they had since they went Wolf? I liked Chase.
 
What is going on KFBK, I have heard Afternoon folk in Morning Drive, and other folk in PM Drive I am not familair with...are they making a change, or is someone on vacation? Thanks for your help.
