Sacramento Arbitron Ratings: April 2011

maybe.

ratings don't cause a flip. That's programmer speak.

Stations flip because of business decisions.

Profit= revenue/costs

You can have low ratings, low cost, bill decent and be profitable enough to keep the station.

High costs(live great dj's), decent ratings, but lower profit means staff cuts or flip to appeal to the managers above for cost cutting and being more profitable on paper.

CC appears ready for another round of cost cutting with even more hub n spoke regional. Wherever high cost people aren't being shared or multitasking they better be quaking. Upper management will just chop for cost cutting not because you were doing a bad job. In fact your ratings could be great but you have higher costs so you'll be gone.

Personnel is the bggest expense to business. cut that and your profit sheet looks better even in a soft economy and with lower revenue.

What will happen to CC Sac. Will it be the hub and outsourced more to their clusters and they fire people in the other clusters or will SF or LA take more of the load as sac shrinks. I'd think Sac costs are lower and therefore cheaper to operate will be to it's advantage. Will traffic center operate in sac or will it be from recently purchaed metro in the bay??? Economies of scale and vertical integration. Great for the company. Bad for employee's and listeners

Depends on how far they look to go down the rabbit hole and cost cut. Always load more onto the FT one's you have/keep. They can do it without affecting their performance right? They'll just be happy to have a job.
