Looks the same as it always does. Although KWOD and The Wolf seem to be basement dwellers. I know I know...that's 18 plus. Any other observations or info? KSTE seemed to do REALLY well.

Here are some guesses due to my observations from down here and my two holiday visits to Sacramento.

Of course these are 12+ numbers and may not reflect success in any important salable demos.

1. News Talk (KFBK, KSTE and even KTKZ) soared due to election.
2. Rhythmic dropped...101.1, 102.5 and 103.5
3. Spanish language stations all dropped....As is the case with Rhythmic stations, probably due to a Hispanic under sampling.
4. The Zone improved due to KGBY's UN-HIP Christmas selections.
5. The End improved due to perhaps a combination of stronger night show, Hispanic undersampling and some KGBY listeners running away from Bing Crosby being presented by Ryan Seacrest.
6. Country dropped. Many listeners went to one of the three Christmas stations KGBY, KYMX and KKFS others probably went to News/Talk.
7. Being ONE of three Christmas stations in Sacramento probably hurt the strength of KYMX. Only so many people want to hear wall to wall Christmas music weeks before the actual holiday.
8. It's unknown if KCCL (K-Hits) gained anything from AC Christmas flight. The numbers are not published due to being a non-subscriber this book.
9. KRXQ, KQJK and KSEG drop? Those News/Talk listeners had to come from somewhere.
10. KXJZ....Not listed...anyone have Maximizer? My guess is that KXJZ is continuing to grow due to it's new found home on 90.9 and probably fared pretty well due to the election.
11. KSSJ....fome flight to News/Talk and the Holiday waterboarding at 92.5, 96.1 and 103.9.
12. KWOD stayed flat.
13. KHTK grew because of the Kings. Too bad the kings record and attendance didn't match their ratings.
14. I'm impressed that KCTC has any audience at all with ESPN considering the existance of KHTK and KNBR. Good for them...
15. KRJY...(ahem) do they have a measurable audience at all? I think they subscribe to Arbitron since they ran ads in Allaccess for sales people stating "knowledge of Arbitron" is required.

Thoughts?

KRXQ was only down at night... which will affect those 12 + numbers
# 1 pretty much every where else...

I just saw KXJZ's unpublished 12+ for the Fall of 2009 in Sacramento...They are number TWO behind KFBK and just ahead of KSTE. Congratulations to the only place in radio where there has been substantial growth...NPR!
