Sacramento sucks!

Not really! I knew that'd get your attention. The board was just dead again. ;D

After the most destructive snow storm in over 20 years, and 5 days without power, we are ready to move to the flatlands. Now I just need a six figure gig! 8)

How about this for an idea? We replace Dr. Laura nationwide with...say...me...syndicated over all her stations nationwide. I do the show based in Sacto. So then we have a LOCAL talk show, plus income from a nationally syndicated radio show. ;)

Be careful what you ask for. Right? :)

Haha, what stations have you worked at? Also its December 1, I think Mix 96 is now Christmas, the Fish made the switch yesterday

More Christmas music? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! :'(

I didn't mean to sound like I was begging for a job. I've had several offers in small markets. I left full-time radio since I was tired of starving in small markets. I make a good wage doing engineering work, so I'm not desparate for a gig.

I've been doing radio and TV stuff since 1999. My TV show, TeckStuff, was in 30 different markets. I gave that up for radio, doing it part-time until taking the plunge into full-time radio. Full-time stations:

KIFW: morning show (news, music, remotes, production, promotions), sports director (called over 100 games in 1 year). Built "The Rock" from scratch (KSBZ). Great experience building a new radio station.

KMMT: morning show (music, remotes, engineering, production). Built new Classic Rock station, KRHV. Voice-tracked shift on KRHV.

KJIL/KHYM/KJOV: Engineering, Nights (two 100KW stations, 30+ translators and satellators, built new 25KW KJOV).

Can you make a living in a Small Market, say like in Chico or Redding?

Sure! It's too far to commute, so I'd have to get a place there. I think six figures would do it. 8)
