Sad, just sad

WOW. There's a lot of Jay envy out there. Who is more knowledgeable and entertaining? There's a reason he gets big numbers. Smart, cutting, and always topical. You don't hear Jay blabbing about local pols from 30 years ago, boring listeners to tears.

Don't confuse the sound of people barfing with "envy".

Alec Baldwin we're envious of.

Jay Severin... HA. HA HA HA. HA HA HA HA HA!

Where are these big numbers you speak of? Got his hat handed to him when he tried to go national, limped back to Boston and now is reduced to radio stunts (impeach Bush, wow: cutting edge) and grossing people out with his watered down Austin Powers bit. ::) I'm sorry, are there actual number to back you up?

Doesn't Baldwin live in France now? He said he was going to move if Bush won...

Its too soon to know if he'll do as well this time around but Jay was a machine before who ran about even with Howie, sometimes even beating him.

Technically, Bush didn't win. He stole it again. So Alec stayed here to fight with Kim Bassinger in public.

No he won this one fair and square because the dems offered the worst possible candidate in Kerry. Look for a repeat in 2008 with Ms. Clinton. He definately stole his first election no question. Baldwin is making a nice comeback as he ages gracefully transitioning nicely from leading man to character actor. What does this have to do with Severin? very little. Although I am no fan of pomous Jay to say he failed nationally is not fair either. His syndication did not go on a whole year did it? I think it wa something less than six months which is not enough time for anyone to make a name for themselves nationally.

Not going a whole year smacks of failure to me :D Kind of like going to the big show and then 'choosing' to return to Double A ball because 'that's where your heart is'. :D

I understand what you mean but Jay was completely unknown outside of Boston and to build an audience in other parts of the country where nobody knows or cares would take more than a year for anyone with the exception of Stern and maybe O and A who have a rep that precedes them. I think Jay's act is insufferable but by defending his syndication I think it shows that I can be impartial. I do think it would have taken anyone more than a year to make a name and it's not fair to dump on him for not lasting. He did get the shot which says a lot.

I love when threads take a turn from their origin LOL

He can be pretty funny. He did well with his guest appearances on Will & Grace, and I've only seen a little of 30 Rock, but from what I've seen, I do think comedy is his new niche.
