SAD THERE IS NO SMOOTH JAZZ

Just returned from a weekend at Glacier National Park in Montana, and was delighted to hear Smooth Jazz on the airwaves on KQJZ 1340/103.5 out of Kalispell. Though it was BA's version of Smooth Jazz, I listened for hours and really enjoyed the music. I can't believe that a small area like Kalispell has Smooth Jazz, yet Seattle has permanently abandoned the format. It's a shame!

I always thought Seattle would be one of the very LAST markets to abandon that format. It's still one of the biggest regions of hardcore Smooth Jazz fans anywhere.

But I think when San Francisco went down, the writing was on the wall for Seattle......

"Smooth Jazz" is nothing more than Muzak with artists names attached to it.
The fact that anyone actually calls it Jazz is an INSULT to Jazz, Smooth Jazz is the "Cousin Oliver" the the Brady's, it's the crazy uncle no one likes to admit is part of the family.

Say all you want, but I think that Smooth Jazz is a relaxing blend to unwind and delight. Hey, I listen to SJ too! Discjockeyjohn64, there's a new SJ station in NM that signed on five months ago, 103.7 The Oasis. Great station, some songs I've never heard even on KWJZ back in the day.

Thank you for the link. As a former SJ DJ (95.7 The Wave, KHJZ-Houston), add me to the list of "I miss it, too."

Maybe, but then how will anyone listen to AT40-The 70s?
