I received word today that Mrs. Vita Ventresca passed. Known as Mrs V...as the owner it was a real challenge living an hour away and still trying to manage the facility with little income. I was very fortunate in September 1981 to have the opportunity to start with WKQV (92.1) in Vineland. I was just as fortunate to begin a fantastic relationship with her son Edward (Ted) and Vita's sister Christine. Christine is temporarily hospitalized and hopefully will be home soon. I have been very busy and not had the time to go visit her and once again remind myself to not put off every possible chance to spend time with people who have meant so much in your life. Vita had a special smile and laugh that most people could never duplicate. The fact I am a radio dj/talk show host is due to Vita...Ted and Chris and I will never take that for granted.

And in related station news, from www.radio-info.com News Page:

After 62 years on radio & TV, Vineland, New Jersey's WVLT-FM (92.1) 88-year old host Sally Starr announced her retirement and will hang up her headphones. You can read about Starr from her Facebook fan page here.
