They post them already encoded in stereo.  Duh :D

No really, until they fix it (which means upgrading the entire system) when you upload videos, they 'process them', which means encoding the video at a extra low bitrate and encoding the audio in monaural.

The only way around it is to already 'process' it before uploading them.  How?

You post a flash video with stereo sound.

You can convert it using different pieces of software, but the results aren't good.

Usually, what happens is folks with expensive software, will convert them to flash at a higher quality and post it with stereo sound. YouTube is extremely picky when it comes to posting video. I haven't yet tried it with my software so I don't the parameters. Posting a video already encoded in flash with stereo doesn't means that it will end up like that.
