Safeway Radio Network/IBN

I was shoping at safeway today and heard Poison's "Every Rose Has It Thorn". Everytime i shop at safeway. I hear a great mix of music...It sound alot like Jack, but it leans more on AC (hot and mainstream), with classic hits thown in. At least they tone down on playing The Diamonds "Strolin", they repeated that song to death and now there repeating I'm walkin by Fats Dominos. Well IBN is doing a good job by mixing up a bit music wise and not just playing all water down AC tunes, There letting it loose. Keep Up The Good Work IBN!

Thanks for the info. It would make sense for a wide-appeal format to be used in a place like a supermarket. For what it's worth, in Nashville I hear that many restaurants/stores play 96.3 Jack FM. "It's everywhere," one person told me, just weeks after it debuted. Not a bad way to get people to find out about a new station...<P ID="signature">______________

Wal-mart has their own radio network too. One time during the overnight hours, rap music got played on their network, and ironically, someone slipped an unedited Dr Dre song on the air. I don't remember what it was, but whoever was behind the console during those hours figured he/she wouldn't get caught airing hardcore rap. They mix up their music too. When Ames was in business twice in the Chicago market, they played mostly an AC based playlist, though it was loosened slightly when they re-entered the Chicago market in 2000. I don't know who Venture used when they were in business. I do know they never used the Venture Radio Network name at all.
