SAG and other awards shows

Does anyone else feel the way I do and could care less if these shows are broadcast?

Coverage of these awards ceremonies are long-winded and drawn out, as are the shows themselves.

I don't know what the rest of you think, but I've stopped watching these programs a long time ago and consider them a waste of air time.

There's too much of an interest in the entertainment industry and in celebrities for the networks not to try to capitalize with music, movie/stage, and TV awards.

Heck, Spike TV is making out fine starting award shows for video games and horror/sci-fi films--and BET hands out awards named after itself. In that same vein, it's the TV Land Awards that are probably the most offensive in terms of 'why did they even bother?'. (That all of these award shows have been started by networks belonging to the Viacom family, home of MTV's movie & music awards, probably isn't a coincidence.) And I didn't even get to ESPN's ESPY's...

All of them are occasions for the honorees to get dressed up and to get drunk. So even if you lose, you can probably win later.
