Radio-Info reports--
The press release package was addressed from the Iowa State Fair’s Blue Ribbon Foundation, but when a white powder leaked out of the package, station personnel took no chances. Jeff Delvaux, VP/GM of the Saga cluster tells Radio-Info that the package was addressed to a former employee. “When the receptionist held the box, without opening it, white powder spilled out onto her.” He says “we called police. In this day and age, you err on the side of caution.” Police & HAZMAT teams quarantined the offices and evacuated employees. The substance turned out to be a cookie mix, and no threat. Says Delvaux, who runs the 6-station group, “We're a media outlet, and it’s my job to protect our employees.”
