The WHIZ Speculation below is very interesting. A while back I had ran across some information regarding this move in to Baltimore...
What I can remember Saga Communications made it obvious that they want ANOTHER Columbus Signal.
They already own:
94.7 WSNY AC
103.5 WJZA SMOOTH JAZZ
104.3 WJZK SMOOTH JAZZ
107.9 WODB OLDIES
My thought is that Saga will buy the signal.
So what could it be?
It could be that 107.9 Oldies will slide down to 102.5
107.9 will be free for a new station. Or sell to Salem
Saga wants to target the upper demos of Columbus. Maybe keep it Modern AC. This would force WBNS into a small war and see what happens. Could Saga be buying the whole thing? Another reason I say this is that Saga owns TV stations and could be moving WHIZ over a few miles to play both markets...
