Saints football on every channel

What is the same football game doing on WDBD 40, WXMS 27, WUFX 35, and WBMS 10 all at the same time? Are they afraid someone might miss it? The commercials are different though

If I recall correctly, 35 was inserting local commercials while 40 ran the straight Cox Sports feed.

Thus an opportunity to A-B 40's New Orleans-centered commercial breaks ("Let us demolish your house, sue your insurance company, sell you a new sink", etc.) against 35's breaks aimed to Jackson ("Buy our car. No, buy ours. No, ours", etc.). Interesting.

What was gravely disappointing was television's *awful* audio quality. Did your local cable or DirecTV feeds have the same drastic difference between 35 and 40 as what I heard off-air? 40 was 10db lower than 35, and was much muddier. It got worse: in the second half, 40 was just running the field mics during commercial breaks (versus audio from the spots). All while the network was jabbering about being HD. Uh-huh.

And yes, like any well-trained Saints fan I had the radio network on. And as usual, WWL-AM's sparkling audio -- married to crisp production -- was "network quality".

PS: can any of you Jackson kids tell me about 27? FCC.gov, FCCinfo.com and Recnet.com all go "huh?" if I query channel 27 or W27CH, but I'm lookin' at it right now.

Thx

Is channel 46 in Jackson on the air? I've never seen anything on that channel in my area. There was also talk of a low power TV in Brandon going up several years ago but I never saw it. As for the audio, WUFX sometimes has low audio forcing you to turn up the volume, only to be blasted out of the house when the commercial comes on. They need to either turn up the program audio, turn down the commercals or buy themselves a compressor/limiter. Thats really annoyng when the sound is doing that.

As for WXMS 27 and WBMS 10, which is simulcast, they are both on the air and I watch it nearly every day, Is it no longer on cable or satelite?
