Saints Radio/TV this weekend in New Orleans?

Anyone know if WWL-AM will suspend its Radio Love-in to bring the game?

Then anyone know about TV since WVUE will be MIA for the next several months, and WGMB Fox 44 in Baton Rouge is not covered by any cable systems around the DMA?

Doubt it. At this point, they are broadcasting in the public interest. And right now, I don't think the public interest of New Orleans includes the Saints. Now, the syndication of the game is done by Louisiana Network. I assume Jim, Hokey, and the rest of crew is in place, but I just don't see WWL carrying the broadcast. Of course, a few of the guys on the broadcast team are natives of NOLA. They could quite possibly air it. Guess it's wait and see right now.

Doubt it also (but will probably have some highlights on the radio-love tour)..

Tri-parish, look for them however on one of Guaranty's stations in Houma though..probably KCIL 107.5 which can be sometimes received in New Orleans.(Another one to check is KBZZ 96.7 as both stations usually broadcast the LSU games)

For those in New Orleans really desperate to hear and can't catch the above, however, At least the nighttime will be good for catching the game as 50kw station KWKH 1130 from Shreveport can be recived in New Orleans at night... and carry Saints/LSU football.

Unless WWL farms out the saints broadcast to another station or the Saints let WWL out of broadcasting the game. i beleive since WWL is the rights holder as Flagship station they have to carry the game.

I assume they would send the production of the game down the line a level or two. I really don't see them carrying this game.....I think the Saints and the NFL would forgive their flagship contract. Hell, they're barely even running spots. How do you figure they could put together an NFL game?

I'm sure WWL has a clause in the contract that allows them to pre-empt the game in an extraordinary circumstance such as this.

Reading the article, one thing I found interesting is that the Regisrer didn't mention the fact that Emmis (which owns WALA and WVUE) was leaving the TV business; before the storm hit, LIN acquired WALA, while Emmis is still looking for a buyer for WVUE.

I wonder when the new ownership's going to take place?

My cable system, Vision Communications of Larose, is pulling in either WGMB or the Fox small market feed. They are not showing WVUE's DirectTV feed with local news breaks instead of commericials.

Correction it is the DirectTV feed or a Satellite feed of WVUE, Channel 8 is still MIA.
Edited by triparishradiotv on 09/11/05 05:42 PM.
