Saints! Win!!!!!

Congrats to the Saints, and to New Orleans. This was one of the most karma-riffic games ever. The media wanted N.O. to win, and it is a great story. Bottom line, though, karma aside, the Saints outplayed Indy from quarter 2 on.

OH GOODY!, I was hoping I could hear WHO DAT? for the next months......

Sorry Colts ! The PATS are the team of the Decade !!!!!

Good thing they didn't go against the Bengals (who were in the playoffs this year) - we would have had Who Dat vs. Who Dey! WTF?

I thought I saw Payton crying. LOL

Not just that...I was at a bar/pool hall in Hollywood with two of my friends, and the side of the bar that we sat in were full of Saints fans. After the game ended, I saw one guy crying almost uncontrollably, even when he was calling one of his friends/family members. Taking out of the Katrina factor, you have to understand that the Saints were one of the worst franchises in the NFL for so long...they didn't have their first winning season until 1987, their 21st season. With that factor alone, as a Los Angeles Clippers fan, I can certainly understand their long-suffering pain and their jubilation when they won it last night. Congratulations to the Saints and their fans.

With the Saints win, and Mardi Gras coming a week from tomorrow...New Orleans will be THE party capital of the world, at least for the next two weeks.

Let's just say that that was almost not even an interception that was the game changer.

I've been watching the live feeds of the stations covering the Super Bowl parade down there. As I don't live in the area, I can only go by what I've been watching. So far...

WWL - Coverage has been pretty bland. The announcer seem like that they're not showing much enthusiasm about what has just happened. Maybe they're told to act more reserved professional in their demeanor. But I wanted to see some more liveliness in their coverage.

WDSU - From what I've been able to see, it's not bad. Same issues as with WWL. Having the Sky 6 does help them a bit in showing us what is going on in the ground.

WVUE - Being that the station has business ties with the Saints owner, I expected a lot of fawning coverage about the team. The station is definitely trying to be the station that is most connected with the community.

WGNO - IMO, the best coverage of the event. Live shots of reporters interviewing people at Bourbon Street, downtown, the airport, etc.. The station is doing its best to get average folk involved in the reactions to the Saints win.

Had the result been different, I'm sure the outcome for the also-ran would have been much different, not only because it's Mardi Gras season, but New Orleans had scheduled a ticker-tape parade, win or lose, this week.

And it's probably VERY cold in Indianapolis right now! I know it's cold here in Nashville!

How many states are not under some sort of weather advisory or another? Anyone in a state subject to blizzard conditions might do well to get the fireplace or wood stove thing going on, because it's a heavy storm that is taking power down.

Don't you mean Peyton? ;) He'd have more reason to.

I watched just for the commercials and I could sort of hear what was going on as I did something else. I kept hearing the name "Payton" but didn't realize there were two of them.

That's simple... The one who looks like the kid from "Malcolm in the Middle" is Payton. ;D

How can you get that emotionally involved in watching men play a boy's game?

Lessee… You’ve always been considered a loser. A hurricane comes and blows away everything you’ve got. You wind up homeless and have to move to another city – just to “stay in the game”. You’re just about ready to give up all hope, but you buckle down in spite of your circumstances, set your goals and give it all you’ve got.

You wind up winning the most watched game in history – after everything that has happened to you and after so many have written you off.

Nah… just business.. no big thing.. nothing to write home about.. just a bunch of men playing a boy’s game…

All right, then. Cry a river.
It's still just men playing a boy's game.

And I just heard on Inside Edition a couple hours ago that only 11 people were in Indianapolis to welcome the Colts home.
"Almost" only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
The Colts still got paid, even if they didn't get all the blue ribbons and certificates. ;)
