Salaries of Lehigh Valley jocks

Just curious to find out if anyone knows what the average salary is for jocks in the Lehigh Valley, such as the Bearman and Keith, Ken Matthews, Michaels&Layne, Stosh, etc. Does it vary depending on the drive time or years in the business? Is it a tough market to get into or will they take anybody? Locally in the Carbon/Schuylkill market, they'll take anything that breathes and some of them shouldn't even breathe on the air.

Do you really think any of them will come on this board and tell you such personal information??

AM drive: 45k to 80k (depends on your ratings, format and years in market)
Middays: 16k to 27k (same as above)
PM drive: 25k to 35k (yada)
Nights: don't even ask
Overnights: you're a computer

I havent worked in the valley for some time, but I would have to think blueboy's estimates are not too too far off (though I think his numbers may be a tad low for mornings)... as in any market, it's gonna ultimately come down to billing: if the station is making money off of the daypart, the air talent will ultimately benefit if they know how to negotiate.

Also, it should be noted, that those numbers sound like base salaries and don't include ratings bonuses (probably more common among the morning shows though not unheard of in other dayparts), appearances/endorsements (which can be very lucrative in a market such as Allentown), and other duties at the station (such as programming, music, promotions, imaging, etc).

"who do you feel is'overpaid'" anybody that only works a few hours a week and then collects a full time pay.

I actually did mornings at a station in the LV and my salary was within the range I posted. It was a base and did not include compensation from remotes and endorsements. It's hard to imagine a station in the LV justifying paying 100k when some in Philly don't make that much.

Jeeeeez!!! are you always this disgruntled? You must be a treat to work with.

> I always made crap and proud to say so....lol

Allentown always paid crap. There was as time in the early 80's when Stosh was making $250 a week at WAEB and his nice PD told him he was overpaid! I know....I was makin' all of $200 a week at the time. Guess I wasn't overpaid, since the same PD never told me that.
