Don't know anything about KDLT, but for KNWS defiantely replace its aging broadcasting equipment. There so many video rolls that air on the station Little Debbie could be put out of business.
Probably try to sell the studio property on Westpark and lease something cheap to cut overhead. With equipment the size it is now days, the station could almost be run out of a closet (or at the very least two or three office suites in a cheap high-rise of office park).
Definately a signal boost and maybe a fiber-optic line to Time Warner Cable to clear up the awful grainy reception problems they have on cable.
As for programming: Quit giving up the syndie shows. As soon as Ellen Degeneres' talk show took off, it found its way over to KPRC (I imagine Warner Brothers Domestic raised the rates, but still). There are plenty of great syndicated shows out there to put on in primetime as an alternative to the network affiliates. It wouldn't be that hard to put up the weekly hour-long shows (Da Vinci's Inquest, et al) in primetime.
