Some of the last of the Mom and Pop owned and operated stations have been sold. Gene Sisk (and wife), of Tupelo, Air South Radio, Inc., has sold his two stations in that market. WFTA-FM (COL-Fulton) 101.9 and WCNA-FM (COL-Potts Camp) 95.9 along with WLZA- Starkville, Metro Radio, Inc. (COL-Eupora) 96.1. The three go to Telesouth Communications Inc., Steve Davenport, the Supertalk group. The Starkville station was co-owned by station manager Carolyn Jackson. Prices are $500,000 for WFTA, $150,000 for WCNA and $500,000 for WLZA. Sisk retains his ownership interest in two Scottsboro, Alabama stations: WKEA-FM (COL-Scottsboro) and WMXN-FM (COL-Stevenson) at least for the time being.
